Kathy Griffin dances t0pless at 61

Comedian Kathy Griffin celebrated her 61st birthday on Thursday with a topless dance on her balcony.

She posted a video on Instagram captioned, “IT’S MY BIRTHDAY, BABY! 61 AND SEXXXXY”.

The post was met with congratulatory messages from friends and fans, including Kris Jenner, Selma Blair, Caroline Rhea, and Traci Lords.

Griffin’s birthday celebrations come after she revealed her diagnosis with stage 1 lung cancer in August.

She explained that despite having never smoked, her doctors “are very optimistic” as she prepared to undergo surgery to have part of her left lung removed.

Her representative confirmed that the surgery was successful.

The comedian gave her own health update on Instagram, sharing that the cancer surgery was “a little more than I had anticipated” and that it was her first night without narcotic pain killers.

She also revealed that the last time she was in the hospital was in June 2020, when she attempted suicide and overdosed on prescription pills.

However, she has been over a year clean and drug-free, and she stated that she now fears drugs and addiction more than cancer.

During her cancer treatments, Griffin has continued to use humor, such as jokingly explaining the “one thing that doesn’t suck about cancer” in a September Instagram post.

She wrote that it’s “how shameless I am when clapping back at people who dare to sass Ms. Kathy about anything with ‘Really, d——-??? Try CANCER!’ I cannot get enough of it.”

Griffin has been a well-known comedian for years, starring in her reality show “My Life on the D-List” and hosting CNN’s New Year’s Eve coverage with Anderson Cooper.

She has also been a vocal critic of former President Donald Trump, which resulted in controversy and backlash.

Griffin’s cancer diagnosis led to an outpouring of support from her fans and fellow celebrities, including Rosie O’Donnell, who tweeted, “sending love and healing to you Kathy” and Olivia Munn, who wrote, “Praying for your full and speedy recovery!”

The comedian has been open about her struggles with addiction and mental health in the past, often incorporating them into her stand-up comedy.

She has been sober for over a year and has been vocal about the importance of seeking help and support for mental health issues.

Griffin’s book “The Guncle Guide” was released in 2020 and was featured on Katie Couric’s list of 100 recommended books of the year.

She has also won two Emmy Awards for her stand-up specials and has been nominated for multiple Grammy Awards for her comedy albums.
