Is Elvis Presley alive? Here are some plausible theories

Elvis Presley, widely known as the King of Rock and Roll, has been the subject of various conspiracy theories since his death in 1977.

Despite being 45 years since his passing, fans remain certain that he faked his death to lead a private life.

Over the years, there have been many supposed Elvis sightings, each more interesting than the last.

One of the earliest sightings took place on August 16, 1977, at Memphis airport.

A man believed to be Elvis purchased a one-way ticket to Buenos Aires, Argentina, under the name Jon Burrows, an alias that Elvis was known to use when booking hotels.

Ever since, fans have been posting images online of a man in Buenos Aires who bears an uncanny resemblance to the King.

Another well-known theory is the poolside photo, taken on December 31, 1977, at Graceland.

The person in the photo was believed to be Elvis, but Joe Esposito, Elvis’s road manager, said that it was Al Strada.

Despite this, some fans remain convinced that it was indeed Elvis.

One of the more far-fetched theories claims that Elvis made an appearance in the 1990 film, Home Alone.

In the movie, a bearded man is seen in the background when Kevin’s mother Kate checks flight availability.

Fans have theorized that this man could be Elvis, who would have been 55 years old at the time.

Author Gail Brewer-Giorgio, who wrote the book “Is Elvis Alive,” claimed to have received a phone call from Elvis in the summer of 1988.

She said the call was recorded and supported her theory that Elvis had gone into witness protection after working with the FBI to take down a criminal organization called “The Fraternity.”

In 1988, a woman named Louise Welling claimed she saw Elvis standing in line at a Felpausch supermarket in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Elvis was wearing a white jumpsuit and purchased an electrical fuse.

Welling’s daughter later saw him eating Whoppers at Burger King, a fast-food chain that was known to be Elvis’s favorite.

In 2016, a video of a Graceland groundskeeper went viral. Many people believed that the silver-haired man was Elvis, who would have been 81 years old at the time.

The man, however, was later identified as Graceland employee Bill Barmer.

Another theory relates to Elvis’s tombstone. Elvis’s middle name was originally spelled Aron, which was similar to the middle name of his stillborn identical twin, Jesse Garon Presley.

However, towards the end of his life, Elvis wanted to change the spelling of his middle name to the biblical Aaron.

But, upon learning that state records listed it as Aaron, Elvis’s father chose to spell it that way on Elvis’s tombstone.

Some fans believe that the misspelling was intentional and a sign that Elvis faked his death.

Finally, the increased number of Elvis sightings in Ottawa, Canada in the 1970s and 1980s led to the formation of the Elvis Sighting Society by three friends, Earl Hart, Jim Carrico, and Ron Hall.

They believed that Elvis had gone into hiding in Canada and continued to search for him.
