“I am going to come on set and watch you guys kiss”: Daniel Radcliffe Was a Complete D*CK to Emma Watson before Her Uncomfortable Scene in Harry Potter

Daniel Radcliffe, who played the role of Harry Potter in the famous film series, has been in the news recently for speaking out against J.K. Rowling’s transphobic comments.

However, it appears that the actor himself had behaved inappropriately towards his co-star Emma Watson during filming.

Watson, who played Hermione Granger in the films, spoke about the discomfort she felt while kissing Rupert Grint during one scene, and Radcliffe’s behaviour only made things worse for her.

In the final installment of the Harry Potter film series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II, Watson and Grint shared their first on-screen kiss.

The scene was supposed to be a “dramatic makeout”, but they were both unable to take it seriously and laughed throughout.

Watson later described the experience as “horrifying” and “incestuous”.

During the 20th anniversary reunion, Return to Hogwarts, Watson recounted the moment and revealed that Radcliffe only made things worse for them.

She said, “Obviously, us kissing was the most horrifying thing either of us has ever had to go through.” Director David Yates, who directed the final four installments, stated that preparing Watson and Grint for the scene was like readying them for a “major sports event,” but he made sure they were both comfortable.

Interestingly, during the epilogue, Radcliffe portrays Harry Potter as a 36-year-old in the last moments of the movie franchise.

However, during the filming of the kissing scene, Radcliffe allegedly behaved immaturely and was not the supportive co-star Watson needed.

He admitted to being an absolute “d*ck” to his fellow actors, saying, “I am going to come on set and watch you guys kiss.”

Watson continued to struggle with her feelings during the scene and found it to be an “actual horror show”.

Kissing Grint was the hardest thing she ever had to do, and it just felt wrong because, to Watson, her Harry Potter co-stars were more like siblings.

Despite the discomfort during filming, the three remain close and refer to themselves as a “family”.

Radcliffe’s behaviour towards Watson during the kissing scene is a reminder that even those who portray admirable characters on-screen may behave differently in real life.

It is important for actors to respect their co-stars’ boundaries and make them feel comfortable during intimate scenes.

While Radcliffe may have acted inappropriately during the filming of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II, he has since spoken out against Rowling’s transphobic comments and has used his platform to advocate for LGBTQ+ rights.

It is important for individuals to learn from their past mistakes and use their influence to bring about positive change.
