Huge New Netflix Deal Awaits Meghan and Harry if They Win Emmy Award

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Netflix documentary has become one of the streaming platform’s most significant releases this year, and now, an Emmy nomination could pave the way for an even more lucrative deal.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex secured a staggering $100 million agreement with Netflix after stepping down from their royal duties.

Their highly acclaimed six-part docuseries, which delves into their lives before and after their time in the royal spotlight, shattered viewing records on the platform.

As a result, Netflix stands a chance of winning an award in the documentary or non-fiction series category at the upcoming September ceremony.

Mark Boardman, a showbiz writer and media commentator for Mark Meets, believes the couple has a strong chance of clinching the prize, which could open doors to further exclusive deals.

In an interview with the Daily Express US, Boardman expressed his confidence in their nomination, stating, “There is absolutely every chance of a win for Harry, Meghan, and Netflix, and I am 100% confident he will be nominated.

I looked at all the potential categories, and it’s the most popular doc series within that category.

So it has to be there, though the nominations have yet to be officially revealed.”

Regarding the potential new deal, the Sussexes stated, “Over the years, they would be able to secure anything between £250 million and £300 million in an exclusive agreement, but only if they find the right project.”

Boardman suggested that television would be their chosen path following Prince Harry’s forthcoming memoir, “Spear,” dismissing the idea of a book unless Meghan expresses interest.

Instead, Boardman proposed that the couple should take inspiration from Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana, by producing realistic documentaries that connect with people’s lives.

This approach would provide Netflix with a year’s worth of captivating content, reducing the likelihood of abandonment.

“They’re going to have to start making real-life, people-meets documentaries, just like what Diana was trying to do,” Boardman emphasized.

“It would win hearts and minds, especially from the British public, and that would give Netflix a year’s worth of content.

It’s going to cost them a fortune to produce episode after episode, but that’s the kind of legacy Diana wanted the boys to leave behind.

And money-wise, Netflix isn’t going to give them up.

It is as if someone is trying to get rid of the best sports players in the world.

You will do everything you can.

As long as they perform, you will continue to cash them in, and that will only happen if a prize is won.”

Recently, the royal couple faced speculation about the termination of their $20 million deal with music streaming platform Spotify, after a Spotify executive referred to them as “grifters.”

However, Netflix swiftly dismissed these allegations, with a spokesperson affirming their strong partnership with Archewell Productions.

The spokesperson assured Entertainment Tonight that Harry and Meghan’s collaboration with Netflix is ongoing, with several projects in the works, including the highly anticipated documentary series, “The Heart of Invictus.”

As Meghan and Harry’s Netflix journey unfolds, it seems their association with the streaming giant is far from over.

The Emmy nomination could serve as a catalyst for future endeavors, propelling the couple into an even more lucrative realm of exclusive deals and captivating content creation.
