Harry Fumes with Anger as Philip’s Final Wish Grants James the Duke of Edinburgh Title and a Special Gift

In a surprising turn of events, Prince Philip’s last wish has caused tension within the royal family.

The late Duke of Edinburgh had expressed his desire for his youngest son, Prince Edward, to inherit his title.

However, it seems that Philip’s wish has been disregarded, as James, the Viscount VII, has been bestowed with the prestigious title of Duke of Edinburgh.

The Duchess of Edinburgh, Sophie, made quite the impression as she attended the Easter Sunday service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.

Sporting a cream Philip Tracy hat with a wide brim and eye-catching height, Sophie effortlessly commanded attention.

Accompanied by her husband, Prince Edward, and their 15-year-old son, James, the Earl of Wessex, Sophie looked elegant as ever in her first appearance at the annual service since becoming the Duchess of Edinburgh.

During the event, eagle-eyed Twitter users noticed a small tribute on James’ attire.

The young Earl of Wessex was seen wearing a necktie adorned with Landrovers, a nod to Prince Philip’s ownership of a Landrover Defender.

This subtle gesture reflects the close bond between James, Louise, and their grandparents, spending most of their time together.

As King Charles ascends to the throne, he has appointed James as the new Earl of Wessex, honoring his late grandfather’s wish.

Prince Edward, now adopting the role of Duke of Edinburgh, will continue to fulfill Philip’s legacy.

However, it is uncertain whether James will inherit his father’s title, as royal tradition dictates otherwise.

Nevertheless, there may be room for change in accordance with Philip’s wishes, as he held a special place in his heart for his favorite grandson.

James’ dedication to his grandfather’s memory is evident in his continued involvement in royal duties.

Even before Philip’s passing, James had taken on some of his responsibilities due to the late Duke’s declining health.

The young Viscount VII has embraced his role, often seen working the grill at various family functions.

Earlier this year, James made a rare public appearance alongside his sister and cousins as they mourned the loss of their grandmother.

Standing among the eight royal grandchildren by the Queen’s Coffin, James participated in an emotional vigil, paying tribute to his beloved grandparents.

It was always Prince Philip’s wish for his son Edward to inherit his title, and Buckingham Palace recently announced Charles’ official appointment as the Duke of Edinburgh.

With this, James assumes the title of Earl of Wessex, while his parents become the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.

However, it is important to note that the Dukedom is not hereditary, meaning James will not automatically receive the title when Edward passes away.

Nevertheless, there is a glimmer of hope for James.

Philip’s fondness for his grandson is well-known, and it is rumored that he left a will and a special gift for him.

Perhaps, in the future, James may be granted the title of Duke of Edinburgh, carrying on his grandfather’s legacy.

The merging of titles and the passing down of the Edinburgh Dukedom is a complex matter.

When Prince Philip died, Charles inherited the title according to the letters patent issued by King George VI in 1947.

However, Charles did not use the title.

Now, with his ascension to the throne following the Queen’s death, the Edinburgh Dukedom merges with the crown, opening the possibility for it to be granted to someone else.
