Harry and Meghan Markle Missed Opportunity to Address Race Issues in England: Ex-Equality Chief
Former head of the Equality and Human Rights Commission, Trevor Phillips, has criticized Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for failing to address race issues in England.
Phillips said that they wasted an opportunity to show the world what England truly stands for when it comes to race.
He added that nobody cared about Meghan’s race, and their claims of being victims of racism were unfounded.
Phillips said that the couple could have made a significant difference to the lives of many people, but they decided not to.
He called their actions unpardonable and a crime.

Phillips is an anti-racism campaigner, but he has been controversial in England, having been accused of Islamophobia in the past.
He stood by his comments and said that nobody believed the couple’s claims of being racially abused.
The controversy surrounding the couple’s claims of racism has been ongoing for some time.
It is unclear who is responsible for the alleged racism, whether it is the media, the royals, the public, or a combination of all three.
However, Phillips said that nobody cared about Meghan’s race, and the couple missed an opportunity to show the world what England truly stands for when it comes to race.
Phillips said that England is a country where nobody cares about marriages across racial and identity lines.
He said that the couple could have shown the world that England is a tolerant and inclusive society, but they chose to create an absurd and untrue story about being victims of racism.
Phillips also had a walk-on role in a controversy surrounding Prince Harry’s book, Save, in which he allegedly misquoted a former aide to Queen Elizabeth II.
The book claimed that the Daily Mail had convened a Fleet Street jury to consider their crimes after the couple left royal life.
The reference to no mercy came from Phillips, not the mediator, and it appeared to be taken out of context.
Phillips offered advice on how conservatives and young reformists could both turn on the sovereign.
He said that when outside the royal enclosure, they will no longer participate in the respect that Harry has had for his entire life.
They will join most of us down and dirty, and they can expect no mercy from those who like things as they are.
Moderate critics have repeatedly accused Harry of betraying his family, while People of Colour Matter activist Imran Ayton criticized the couple for using people of colour as a tool when they needed support.
She said that they should have talked about racism and sought support from the African-American community.
However, three years later, they pretended that they did not talk about racism and dumped them at the end of their journey.
