Harry and Elton John’s Friendship Hits a Sour Note at French Retreat

In a surprising turn of events, Prince Harry has opened up about a clash he had with his close friend, Elton John, during their recent holiday at the singer’s French home.

While their friendship has always been strong, it seems that even the best of friends can have their disagreements.

Interestingly, despite numerous mentions of Elton in Harry’s new book, there is no tribute to the iconic singer.

Instead, Harry delves into the details of a holiday disagreement and a song refusal.

It appears that Harry and his wife, Meghan, have been quite appreciative of Elton’s generosity, as he has loaned them his private jet on multiple occasions.

However, this time around, things took a different turn.

Elton had previously revealed that he had paid for a flight for Harry, Meghan, and their son Archie, not only to ensure their safety but also to offset the carbon emissions.

However, after feeling snubbed by Harry’s book, Elton has decided to no longer lend them his private jet.

Rumor has it that this falling out has caused Meghan to miss out on attending any Oscars parties.

Elton John’s connection to the royal family goes way back, particularly with Princess Diana.

His emotional rendition of “Candle in the Wind” at her funeral left everyone in tears.

He even performed at Harry and Meghan’s wedding reception in 2018.

The couple later visited Elton and his husband, David Furnish, in France, seeking solace after admitting they were struggling.

During their stay, Harry and Meghan enjoyed scooter rides with David and witnessed their young son, Archie, capturing Elton’s attention due to his striking resemblance to Diana.

However, it was on the final night of their vacation that tensions arose.

While relaxing by the pool, Elton offered cocktails, but a seemingly innocent conversation turned sour.

Harry claims that he was congratulating Elton on finishing his memoir, “Me,” but things took a turn when the singer revealed it would be serialized in the Daily Mail.

This revelation visibly upset Harry, who questioned Elton’s choice of newspaper, considering the publication’s history of making their lives miserable.

The awkward exchange left Harry sweating profusely, with beads of sweat dripping from his forehead.

Despite pushing Elton on the matter and reminding him of the lies printed about them, Harry realized that Elton had accepted a £100,000 check from the same newspaper.

In his book, Harry admits that he didn’t want to spoil the holiday and chose not to press the issue further, as he still loves Elton dearly.

It is worth noting that Elton has remained close to both of Diana’s sons since her passing.

He even defended Harry and Meghan against unfounded character assassinations in 2019, following criticisms over their use of private jets.

Elton had previously provided them with a jet to travel to his villa in Nice.

In response to the backlash, Elton took to Twitter, expressing his distress over the distorted and malicious accounts in the press.

In another revealing revelation from Harry’s book, he shares that he asked Elton to sing “Candle in the Wind” for the anniversary of Diana’s death.

However, the Grammy award winner refused, claiming it would be too macabre to celebrate her life and achievements in such a manner.

While Harry and Elton’s friendship has certainly hit a rough patch, it remains to be seen whether they can mend their differences.
