Eviction from Frogmore Cottage Raises Questions About Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Future in the UK

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been asked to leave their residence on the Windsor grounds by the King, as he plans to make changes to the Royal Homes.

This eviction has sparked concerns about the Duke’s ability to return to the UK in the future.

Despite moving to the United States three years ago, the couple has kept Frogmore Cottage as their UK base.

However, with Harry already expressing worries about his family’s safety in the UK, not having a home will complicate their future visits even more.

According to Royal Correspondent Jack Royston, while it may not be impossible for Harry to return to the UK, the eviction from Frogmore Cottage will make the arrangements more complex.

The property, located on private state grounds around Windsor Castle, provides de facto police security and protection against potential terrorist attacks and assassination attempts.

Losing Frogmore Cottage means more than just losing a home for the couple.

It is a significant setback for Harry and Meghan, who have been trying to distance themselves from the institution for the past three years.

Royston also suggests that this eviction could make Harry and Meghan more reliant on the Royal family.

In order to benefit from police protection around their residence, they may have to negotiate for a room in another Royal residence, further tying them to the palace institution.

A spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess confirmed that they have been requested to vacate Frogmore Cottage, a Grade II listed property that was given to them as a wedding gift by the late Queen in 2018.

This eviction is just the latest controversy surrounding the couple’s use of public funds.

Frogmore Cottage underwent extensive renovations at a high cost before the couple briefly moved in 2019.

They have since reimbursed the Royal purse with an estimated $2.4 million.

Harry has previously expressed concerns about the level of protection provided to his family in the UK.

In March 2020, he filed a lawsuit against the Home Office over the removal of his security detail.

At the time, a spokesperson for the Duke argued that their privately funded security team could not adequately replace the necessary police protection while in the UK.

Since their move to the United States, Prince Harry and his family have made several shocking allegations against the Royal family.

During their interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021, they accused the institution of racism, lack of support for their mental health struggles, and silencing Meghan.

These allegations have strained their relationship with the Royal family, and the eviction from Frogmore Cottage is a significant development.

It severs the final major tie between the couple and Britain, making future return visits to the country much more complicated and potentially straining their relationship further.

At this point, it remains uncertain whether Prince Harry will be able to return to the UK in the future.

The situation is still unfolding, and we will have to wait and see how things turn out.
