Emma Stone’s dress rips at Met Gala after-party

Emma Stone had a fashion mishap at the after-party of the Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

She had turned heads on the red carpet in a beautiful Lanvin frock, but as she headed to the after-party, she discovered a hole in her dress, just below the zip fastening.

She was joined by Lanvin designer Alber Elbaz, who looked on with horror at the rip in her expensive creation.

Stone was forced to cover up the tear with a patent maroon coat as she arrived at a bar to continue the festivities.

The actress, who was attending the party alone without her boyfriend Andrew Garfield, accessorized her look with satin black pumps from the Hiver 2011 Runway Collection, turquoise painted nails, and an intricate up-do featuring a large hair brooch.

The 23-year-old actress had her dress malfunction captured by the paparazzi.

She had been seen fussing with her outfit earlier on the main venue steps, and actresses Rashida Jones and Leslie Mann were helping her stay in her intricate frock, but their efforts turned out to be in vain.

Other celebrities at the event included Stacy Keibler, who wore a two-tone maxi gown that created the illusion of a slimmer frame.

Rosario Dawson wore a collared Calvin Klein leather dress, dancing with Swedish fashion model turned blogger, Hanneli Mustaparta.

Fashion icon Amber Valletta looked like she was enjoying the music selection, moving away in a floor-length frock.

Jaime King wore a bandeau graduated hemline number with hints of blue in her strappy heeled shoes.

Model Karolina Kurkova switched out of her earlier Rachel Zoe design and showed off her perfect pins in a black sequin frock later on.

Model Coco Rocha wore a vintage Givenchy pant suit that was once worn by Elizabeth Taylor.

Other stars who partied at the bar Crown Bar included Ginnifer Goodwin, the Jonas Brothers, China Chow, and Victoria Justice.

At the same time, celebrities were also showing up to the Boom Boom Room.

Vampire Diaries stars Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev attended.

Diane Kruger looked like she was cold as she exited the same venue in a skimpy deep V-neck cropped top.

Kristen Stewart quickly slipped out of her Balenciaga dress by Nicolas Ghesquiere, arriving extremely casually in a pair of jeans and a leather jacket.

Her Twilight Saga co-star Ashley Greene was spotted with her boyfriend Reeve Carney, and Ginnifer Goodwin arrived in her orange Monique Lhuillier design.

Jessica Alba continued to sparkle in her gold Michael Kors one-shoulder dress.

Justin Timberlake looked relieved to be heading home as he jumped into a Hybrid car with his fiancée Jessica Biel.

Gerard Butler was spotted leaving the main event with a female companion wearing an eye-catching silver number, teamed with a matching clutch bag.

Emma Roberts was present for one of the final parties well into the early hours of the morning at the Standard Hotel in the Meat Packing District.

Mad Men actress January Jones went all out in a studded strapless frock with satin open-toe shoes.

Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe stepped out with the beautiful Rose Hemingway, who donned a ruffled frock.

Chloe Sevigny flashed but managed to maintain her modesty with the help of black underwear in a dress compiled with various square and circle pieces.

Camilla Belle channeled Twenties chic in an intricate jeweled dress, and Alicia Keys donned some interesting footwear with fire detail on the heel.

The Met Gala is an annual event that has become a highlight of the fashion calendar, with celebrities wearing

couture dresses and tuxedos designed by the biggest names in fashion. The event is held to raise money for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute.

The 2012 Met Gala was no exception, with guests wearing glamorous and elaborate outfits.

The theme of the event was “Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations”, which celebrated the work of Italian fashion designers Elsa Schiaparelli and Miuccia Prada.

Emma Stone was one of the standout attendees, wearing a stunning red Lanvin dress on the red carpet.

The dress featured a fitted bodice and a full skirt with a thigh-high slit, which she paired with black pumps and minimal jewelry.

Her hair was styled in a sleek, side-parted up-do, and her makeup was kept simple with a bold red lip.

Other notable attendees included Beyoncé, who wore a sheer Givenchy Haute Couture gown with a high slit and feathered train, and Rihanna, who wore a form-fitting black Tom Ford crocodile embossed gown with a plunging neckline.

The event was also attended by designers and fashion industry insiders, including Anna Wintour, who is the editor-in-chief of Vogue magazine and the chair of the Met Gala, and Karl Lagerfeld, who is the creative director of Chanel and Fendi.

Despite her fashion mishap, Emma Stone remained the talk of the event, with her Lanvin dress being hailed as one of the best of the night.

The actress has since become known for her impeccable style, regularly appearing on best-dressed lists and working with top fashion brands.
