Elliot Page says he had a secret two-year relationship with a closeted co-star

Elliot Page, the 36-year-old actor formerly known as Ellen Page, has disclosed in his new memoir, Pageboy, that he had a two-year secret relationship with a closeted female co-star, whom he refers to as “Ryan.” The pair had met on a film set ten years ago and fell in love with each other.

They had to be discreet, refraining from public displays of affection and keeping their romance hidden from family and friends.

Page writes that Ryan was more closeted than he was for a change, and they had “discreet but adventurous s**” in various locations, including on rocks below the Pacific Coast Highway, boulders in Joshua Tree National Park, and even on an airplane.

Page recalls meeting Ryan at a coffee shop when he was 26 and being captivated by her inner and outer beauty.

He describes how they discussed books, activism, collective consciousness, and the intelligence of nature, which quickly led to a passionate romantic liaison.

They traveled together, and Ryan wrote a heartfelt note to Page in the back sleeve of a book he was reading while waiting for a flight in the Air Canada lounge.

Her parents did not know about their relationship, and they went to great lengths to keep it hidden from them.

Despite their strong feelings for each other, Ryan eventually broke up with Page, leaving him shattered.

Page speculates that she could not handle the shame of being seen as a queer person.

He ran into Ryan shortly after the breakup, and she arrived at a party with an unnamed male date, which upset Page.

The news about Page’s secret relationship with Ryan comes after he revealed his past s**ual relationship with his co-star Kate Mara from X-Men: Days of Future Past and Olivia Thirlby from Juno in his memoir, Pageboy.

He claims that he and Thirlby had s** “all the time” while filming the movie and that he was instantly attracted to her.

Page’s memoir offers a brutally honest look at his career and personal life, and Flatiron Books published it on June 6, 2022.

The 288-page tell-all also features how he explored his feelings of shame when he was in a gay bar just a few months before the premiere of his breakout movie Juno.

The two-time Emmy-nominated producer came out as a lesbian in 2014 during a speech at the Human Rights Campaign’s “Time to Thrive” conference in Las Vegas.

He then came out as transgender in December 2020, revealing that he had been feeling like a boy since the age of nine.

Page kicked off his nine-date international book tour on June 6 at The Town Hall in Midtown Manhattan, with future dates to be announced soon.

It is unclear whether he is still with non-binary comedian Mae Martin after their divorce from Canadian dancer Emma Portner was finalized in 2021 after two years of marriage.
