Elliot Page says A-list actor offered him s** to ‘to make you realise you aren’t gay’

Elliot Page, the Canadian actor known for his roles in Juno and The Umbrella Academy, has recounted being verbally assaulted by an A-list actor at a party just two months after he came out as gay in 2014.

In his new memoir, Pageboy, which is due to be released on June 6th, Page recalls that the actor, who he described as an “acquaintance”, told him: “You aren’t gay.

That doesn’t exist.

You are just afraid of men.” The unnamed actor then went on to say “I’m going to f*** you to make you realise you aren’t gay.”
Days later, Page saw the man at the gym and confronted him.

The actor responded by saying “I don’t have a problem with gay people I swear.” To which Page replied, “I think you might.”
Page, who came out as transgender in December 2020, did not name the actor but said in his memoir that “he will hear about this and know it’s him”.

Speaking to People magazine recently, Page spoke about how “grateful” he is for his life after undergoing gender-affirming surgery.

Despite the difficulties he has faced, Page said he was “just me and grateful to be here and alive and taking one step at a time.”

In another chapter of his book, Page also revealed that he suffered from panic attacks before coming out as gay in 2014.

“I had panic attacks for a long time,” he wrote.

“I think it was part of my body saying, ‘This isn’t OK.’”
Page announced that he identified as a lesbian in 2014 before coming out as transgender in 2020.

In his memoir, he writes about the difficulties he has faced since coming out and his hope that others can learn from his experiences.

“I put that story in the book because it’s about highlighting the reality, the s*** we deal with and what gets sent to us constantly, particularly in environments that are predominantly cis and heterosexual,” he wrote.

Page has been a vocal advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and has used his platform to raise awareness about the issues faced by the community.

He is also known for his work as an environmental activist and has spoken out against climate change.

Pageboy, which is being published by W.W. Norton & Company, is expected to be a candid and personal exploration of Page’s life, including his experiences in Hollywood and his journey towards self-acceptance.
