Meghan and Harry’s first podcast, according to a source, was a “massive failure” for Spotify since it did not do well. The first episode debuted at number 17 on the UK Spotify list, behind a Deep Sleep Sounds podcast of whale noises. Seven days after the broadcast, the Sussexes episode climbed to number 7.

Spotify executives, on the other hand, wanted Meghan and Harry’s podcast to be number one. The program was also “critically panned” for being “too radical,” creating further difficulties for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who were unable to arrange appropriate guests.

Spotify is predicted to miss its sales goal for the year. Spotify’s growth to become the “Netflix of audio material” by picking up prominent names like Kim Kardashian West, Michelle Obama, and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, according to Financial Express, did not result in any major benefits.
