Calls for Change: Activists Urge Removal of Royal Titles

In a bold move, activists advocating for a republic are urging the removal of royal titles from King Charles and his family.

Graham Smith, the chief executive of the anti-monarchy group Republic, made these statements during an appearance on GB News’ Royal Record podcast hosted by Cameron Walker.

His comments have sparked a renewed debate about the relevance of monarchy in modern Britain.

Smith outlined Republic’s vision for a democratic system that prioritizes equality among citizens.

He argued that in a republic, aristocratic and royal titles simply do not fit.

“A republic is about equal citizens,” he emphasized, suggesting that Charles should be known as Charles Windsor, just like any other citizen.

This perspective challenges the long-standing traditions associated with the British monarchy.

The activist went on to elaborate on how the royal family could be stripped of their privileges.

This process would begin with the removal of their titles, marking a significant shift in the structure of British society.

Smith believes that if the monarchy were abolished, members of the royal family would still enjoy wealth but without the obligations and titles that come with their current status.

If these changes were implemented, the royals would no longer be addressed as “Your Royal Highness.”

All titles associated with prince and princess would vanish, fundamentally altering how the public perceives the royal family.

Smith’s vision paints a picture of a more egalitarian society where everyone is treated equally under the law.

In a related development, Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, is set to miss the traditional rehearsals for King Charles’s upcoming birthday parade.

Kensington Palace has announced that Lieutenant-General James Bucknell will step in as the inspecting officer at the Colour Colonel Review of Troops scheduled for June 8th.

This marks a notable change in the usual proceedings for such an event.
