Anne Hathaway says ‘fame f–ked me up for a really long time’
Anne Hathaway is featured on the cover of Elle UK and she shared her thoughts on fame in an interview with the magazine.
The actress admitted that she struggled with the attention that came with her successful film career. She said, “This fame thing? F–ked me up for a really long time.”
Hathaway explained that she didn’t know how to cope with the fame and it caused her stress.
She said, “I didn’t know how to do it. I didn’t know how to engage with it. It stressed me out. And people would say, ‘You just have to be yourself,’ and I was like, ‘But I don’t know who that is yet!'”
The actress took a short hiatus following her Oscar win for her role in “Les Misérables” in 2013.

In January 2014, she told The Huffington Post that she felt people “needed a break from her.”
However, she soon returned to the big screen alongside Matthew McConaughey in the movie “Interstellar.”
In her interview with Elle UK, Hathaway talked about her confidence and how she no longer feels the need for validation from others.
She said, “I’ve realized that I don’t need validation from anybody. At all. I’m not sitting here now worrying, ‘What do you think of me?’ With all due respect, you seem like a lovely lady, but I don’t need you, or anyone else, to like me.”
She called this realization “liberating” and said, “It’s a big reveal, man.”
The actress has certainly had a successful career so far. Some actors dream of the level of success that she has achieved.
