Natalie Portman ‘dreads’ training for Superhero Film Thor: Love And Thunder
Natalie Portman dislikes rehearsing for her role in Thor: Love and Thunder.
On Oct. 20, the actress appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and discussed the upcoming project, which will be shot in Sydney, Australia. The Mighty Thor, a popular comic book, will be the inspiration for the film.
Fallon mentioned that superhero movies need a lot of preparation and fitness, something Portman admitted she was dreading.
“I’m trying. I’ve also had months of like pandemic, you know, eating baked goods and lying in bed and feeling sorry for myself,” she revealed. “So I’m like super tired after working out, and during and dreading before.”
The Oscar-winning actress will be the first woman to play Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Indeed, the mother of two had her hands full during quarantine. While at home with her children and husband, Benjamin Millepied, the Black Swan actress started a vegan cooking show in which she cooks with and interviews celebrity chefs, started a book club in which she interviews authors, and helped bring a professional women’s soccer team to Los Angeles.
“A group of us became really passionate about women’s soccer because we have the best players in the world in the United States in the most popular sport in the world,” she stated.
She continued, “So we got together and we are bringing Angel City FC, the women’s soccer team for Los Angeles to L.A. in 2022. And we are super excited to just kind of celebrate these incredible athletes. And yes, it’s the first female led, female investors I think any professional sport.”
Portman previously stated in an interview that her Thor is not known as ‘Lady Thor,’ but rather as ‘The Mighty Thor.’
“She’s actually The Mighty Thor,” the actress told Serena Williams in an Instagram Live session.
“The comics had the female Thor when Jane becomes Thor, and she’s The Mighty Thor,” she added.
Thor: Love And Thunder will see Portman’s character, astrophysicist Jane Foster, take up the mantle of Thor after transforming into a female version of the Norse god.
