Jack Nicholson, the 85-year-old Oscar-winning actor, was recently seen for the first time in 18 months, relaxing on the balcony of his famous Mullholland Drive compound in Beverly Hills.

The star’s disheveled appearance raised concerns from his friends that he might end up dying alone, like his former next-door neighbor and fellow screen legend, Marlon Brando.

Nicholson is considered one of the most famous bachelors in Hollywood, having been married only for four years before making it big in the industry.

His famous romance with Angelica Houston ended almost 25 years ago.

The Shining actor was last seen in October 2021 alongside his son, Ray, watching his beloved LA Lakers courtside.

According to reports, Ray is one of the few people Nicholson keeps in touch with.

On Thursday, the actor was spotted enjoying the fresh air while leaning against a balcony railing and wearing a loose-fitting pale orange shirt and baggy sweatpants.

In exclusive video obtained by DailyMail.com, Nicholson could be seen tapping on the balcony railings, taking turns sitting and standing, and keenly observing a helicopter flying overhead while birds chirped in the background.

An unnamed friend of Nicholson’s told Radar Online in January that he wishes the actor would come out of his house to reassure people that he’s okay, stating, “He’s made it clear his home is his castle.

But people just wish he’d come out of the house and pop up to tell them how – or at least reassure folks he’s OK.” The same friend also revealed that Nicholson keeps in touch with certain relatives, especially Ray, but that his socializing days are long gone.

Nicholson’s last on-screen appearance was in 2010’s How Do You Know, where he starred alongside Owen Wilson and Reese Witherspoon.

For years, rumors have circulated that he’s retired from acting due to battling dementia and being unable to remember his lines.

In January, an unnamed friend told Radar Online that while Nicholson was physically in good shape, “his mind is gone.”

During an episode of his No Spin News broadcast, former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly denied reports that Nicholson’s mental health had declined, stating, “I visited Jack Nicholson a few months ago.

“I had a long conversation with him and he follows the No Spin News very closely and had all kinds of intelligent questions for me.

“I have been friends with him for decades.

“He is 85, okay? But he is more intellectually nimble than the president of the United States.”

Nicholson has fathered six children with five different women, but he has been criticized for never acknowledging his paternity of his alleged daughter Tessa Gourin.

In February, Tessa, an aspiring actress, published an essay in Newsweek titled “I’m Jack Nicholson’s Daughter – I Wish People Could Call Me a Nepo Baby,” where she expressed her frustration at not being able to secure roles or be signed to huge agencies despite being the daughter of a celebrity.

In a separate interview with the Daily Beast, Tessa disclosed that she was told from a young age not to reveal her father’s identity.

She also called Nicholson “a complicated person” and that her birth was “collateral damage.”

Nicholson’s other children include Jennifer Nicholson, born in 1963 during his marriage to Sandra Knight; a son, Caleb, born to his girlfriend Susan Anspach in 1970; and Honey, born to Danish model Winnie Hollman in 1981.

His youngest children, Lorraine and Ray, were born to actress Rebecca Broussard.

Nicholson had a somewhat controversial upbringing.

His mother, June Frances Nicholson, was an unmarried showgirl who gave birth to him at age 18.

She decided to raise him as her sibling, pretending that June was his sister, and her parents raised Nicholson as their own child.

It wasn’t until Time magazine uncovered the truth in 1974 that Nicholson discovered the real story.

Despite this, the actor called the discovery “dramatic” but not traumatizing, saying that it had done great things for him.

June moved away from Jack when he was four years old to pursue her career as a showgirl, and the actor moved to California to be with her when he turned 17.

There, he landed a job as a secretary for William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, the animation directors at the MGM cartoon studio.

He was also studying to be an actor at the same time and eventually landed his debut role in the 1958 teen drama The Cry Baby Killer.

Nicholson’s career took off from there, and he went on to become one of the most well-known actors of all time, with more than 70 roles in movies and TV shows over his 50-year career.

Some of his most famous roles include The Shining, Batman, Easy Rider, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, and The Departed.

In addition to his successful acting career, Nicholson also had a reputation for being a ladies’ man.

He had relationships with actresses, singers, and models such as Michelle Phillips, Jill St. John, Lara Flynn Boyle, Kate Moss, and Rebecca Broussard.

Playboy model Karen Mayo-Chandler once famously said of Nicholson, “He’s a nonstop s^x machine,” while actress Kim Basinger called him “the most highly s^xed individual she had ever met.”
