Salma Hayek: Donald Trump lied about me when I rejected him
Actress Salma Hayek has accused Donald Trump of planting a false story in the National Enquirer after she refused to go on a date with him.
Hayek made the claim during an appearance on a Spanish radio show on Friday, where she also spoke out against Trump’s actions towards the Latino community.
The host of the show, El Show del Mandril on Radio Centro 93.9 in Los Angeles, asked Hayek about the numerous sexual assault allegations made against Trump.
Hayek stated that she believed the allegations and shared her own encounter with Trump.
Hayek explained that she had met Trump earlier in her career, when she already had a boyfriend.

Trump tried to become friends with her boyfriend in order to obtain her phone number and subsequently asked her out on a date.
Hayek said, “When I told him I wouldn’t go out with him even if I didn’t have a boyfriend, [which he took as disrespectful], he called—well, he wouldn’t say he called, but someone told the National Enquirer.”
Hayek went on to claim that an anonymous source told the National Enquirer that Trump did not want to go out with her because she was too short.
However, Trump later called Hayek and left a message denying the story and expressing concern about how it could affect her reputation.
Hayek said, “He thought that I would try to go out with him so people wouldn’t think that’s why he wouldn’t go out with me.”
Tax records also show that Trump reportedly spent $120,000 of Trump Foundation money to buy a luxury trip, including a dinner with Hayek, at a charity auction in 2008.
However, he did not go on the trip.
Trump is currently facing accusations of sexual assault and harassment from over 10 women, including former Apprentice contestant Summer Zervos and Miss Teen USA contestants who have claimed that Trump used to “stroll in” to their dressing room while they were changing.
