More information regarding the years leading up to Meghan Markle’s affair with Prince Harry is becoming available. Elizabeth Cundy, the Duchess of Sussex’s former friend, recently disclosed that Markle wanted to be introduced to a “famous British Man” a few years before she ignited a relationship with Harry.

When Cundy and Markle met in 2013 at a fundraising dinner, they became friends, but Cundy claims that after she and the Ginger Prince went public with their romance in 2016, Duchess Meghan discarded her.

“We were having a girly chat and then she said, ‘Do you know any famous guys? I’m single and I really love English men’. So I said, ‘We’ll go out and find you someone,’ ”  Cundy recalls.

“She told me she wanted to appear on an English reality TV show and have an English boyfriend,” Ms Cundy said.

“She set her sights on Made In Chelsea and worked hard to get in with that crowd.

“She said that she could only be in Suits for so long and that Hollywood was a really brutal place.

“She hadn’t reached a breakthrough yet, but she claimed she’d be at home in London.”

Meghan was shown a picture of soccer player Ashley Cole by Cundy. Markle is reported to have stared at Ashley’s portrait and felt he was cute. Cundy told the actress she didn’t have to care about his reputation because she was just out for a good time.

It’s unknown if Markle and Cole actually dated, although she was said to have dated X Factor contestant Matt Cardle before Harry. Markle evidently put a stop to all else after meeting Harry.

Cundy’s relationship with Meghan (and fellow ex Meghan pal Piers Morgan) ended in late 2016 after her royal romance was announced.

“I texted saying, ‘Oh my God, I heard about Harry.’ And she was like, ‘Yeah I know. We’ll try and hook up,’” Cundy wrote. “She was probably told by the Palace to end contact with people she befriended in the media. I was literally ghosted by her.”

Markle was allegedly determined to settle down with a British man before meeting Harry. According to inside information, Markle obtained Cardle’s phone number months before meeting Harry and questioned if he wanted to go on a date. Cardle was said to be friendly with Markle and was flattered when she reached out to her.

Markle and Prince Harry have now married and are now the happy parents of Baby Archie!
