Why filming s-x scenes is actually unsexy

Celebrities have opened up about the challenges of filming s^x scenes in movies.

Dakota Johnson, who starred in the Fifty Shades Freed franchise, revealed that wearing strapless thongs with adhesive was part of the challenge.

“It’s not glue, but it’s sticky.

They’re, like, basically if it were a nipple pastie, but underwear.

But it’s only sticky at the top, it’s not sticky the whole way,” she said.

The thongs would often come off during filming, and so she had to wear two of them, which was uncomfortable.

Rosamund Pike and Neil Patrick Harris starred in a violent s^x scene in the thriller Gone Girl, and Pike revealed that rehearsing the scene alone with Harris was the awkward part.

“You’re alone with a man who’s not your husband who also has a husband.

He’s in his underwear, you’re in your underwear and you’re sort of dry humping on a bed,” she shared.

Filming a s^x scene could take hours and can be tiring, according to Justin Timberlake, who starred in Friends with Benefits alongside Mila Kunis.

“It’s actually kind of annoying, you’re there for 12 hours, it’s exhausting,” he said.

Apologies are sometimes made before shooting a s^x scene, and sometimes references are made to Sir Laurence Olivier’s advice.

“I apologize if I get aroused and I apologize if I do not get aroused,” said an actor who was not named in the article.

Olivia Wilde, who has had experience in filming s^x scenes, shared that the experience is far from what people imagine.

“There is always a particularly large and hairy man holding a boom wearing a crop top,” she joked.

“You are stopping and starting.

There is someone yelling, like, ‘Can you move your hand, can you just put your shoulder down, OK, good, more, more …'”

Matthew Rhys and Keri Russell, who are a couple in real life and co-starred in the TV series The Americans, were asked if filming s^x scenes was less awkward because they are a couple.

Rhys said that physically, they were comfortable together, but he admitted that he gets protective of Russell.

“I’m like, ‘Can someone get her a f——‘ robe, please?! She’s standing there nkd, we’ve cut for five seconds, Jesus Christ.’ And they’re like, ‘Dude, this is the fourth season,’ ” he joked.

Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis were friends when they starred in Black Swan together, but they didn’t consider that they would have to share a s^x scene.

“I didn’t really think through the fact that I was going to have to have s^x with her in the movie,” Portman said.

“It was pretty awkward.”

Michael Douglas, who starred in Behind the Candelabra, said that s^x scenes are challenging because everyone is a judge.

“I don’t know the last time you murdered somebody or blew anyone’s brains out, but everyone has had s^x and probably this morning, which means everyone has an opinion on how it should be done,” he said.

Charlie Hunnam, who starred in Sons of Anarchy, said that filming s^x scenes was not his favorite part of the job because he is a germophobe and his girlfriend doesn’t enjoy watching him with other women.

“I try to be sensitive to the fact that we’re doing something intimate, but also keep a clear boundary.

Because I’m in a very committed relationship, and I’m also cognizant that it’s not my girlfriend’s favorite part of my job,” he said.

Judy Greer, who starred in Wilson with Woody Harrelson, hyped herself up for a s^x scene rehearsal, but her enthusiasm may have been too much.

“I’m gonna really do my full performance here for this rehearsal so everyone knows what I’m gonna do,” Greer recalled.

However, after the rehearsal, the director approached her and said, “I don’t think she’s that into it.” Greer was mortified and embarrassed.

Filming s^x scenes can also cause actors to forget their lines.

Ryan Reynolds, who starred in The Change-Up with Olivia Wilde, forgot his lines when he had to take off her bra.

“And she has those pasties on, but she’s drawn these adorable little smiley faces on them,” he said.

“And I forget every line in the scene—not just from this movie but from every other movie I’ve done.”

In addition to being forgetful, actors must also maintain a professional demeanor during s^x scenes.

Adam Driver, who starred in Girls, said that s^x scenes require “patience, endurance, and a lot of composure.” He added, “You’re not really thinking about the intimacy of it, you’re thinking about the choreography, the shot, and making sure you don’t get anyone hurt.”

Similarly, Emma Watson, who starred in The Bling Ring, said that s^x scenes are not s^xy at all.

“The whole thing is so uns^xy,” she said.

“It’s very technical.

There are a million people standing around, and you’re in your underwear.” Watson also said that it’s hard to establish chemistry with someone you’ve just met.

Chemistry is important in s^x scenes, and it can be difficult to establish.

Emilia Clarke, who starred in Game of Thrones, said that chemistry is essential for a successful s^x scene.

“It’s not just about knowing the lines and knowing where to stand and what to do.

“It’s about giving a performance that is truthful,” she said.

Kristen Stewart, who starred in On the Road, said that s^x scenes can be nerve-wracking.

“You’re standing there butt nkd and you’re like, ‘Oh, no, this is not okay.’ And then suddenly you’re like, ‘Okay, let’s go.’ And it’s just another thing that you have to get over, just like any other hurdle.”

Despite the challenges, some actors find s^x scenes to be empowering.

Alison Brie, who starred in GLOW, said that s^x scenes can be liberating.

“It can be a very empowering thing to do, to feel like you’re in control of your own s^xuality and your own body,” she said.
