Video of actor masturb@ting shown in court

Craig McLachlan, the actor accused of indecent assault, had footage played in court of him simulating masturbation.

The 55-year-old explained to Melbourne magistrates court that the video was a lewd joke he shared with one of four women accusing him of indecent assault.

McLachlan is facing seven counts of indecent assault and six of common law assault.

He denies all allegations against him.

Three videos were presented in court, including one which showed McLachlan touching his groin area over his pants.

Two other videos showed the actor on or near a toilet with his pants down, making pained facial expressions.

McLachlan explained that he shared these videos with the same woman as part of a running joke about food catering during show production.

None of the videos presented is the subject of the charges McLachlan faces over his alleged conduct towards women during a particular run of the Rocky Horror Show in Australia.

The actor also denied an allegation that he traced his finger around the outline of a co-star’s vag|na during a “bed” scene during the Rocky Horror Show.

He argued that the allegation did not match the timing of the production.

“Certainly in the moment she nominated, I’m almost two metres away,” he said.

He previously described that accuser as the “most vulgar” person he had ever met.

Footage from one of the musical’s songs, Sweet Transvestite, was played to the court.

The court has been told of a playful, jokey atmosphere between cast members.

McLachlan earlier said he had always been “energised and enthusiastic and over the top in the workplace”.

One of his accusers had straddled him with an inflatable porpoise, he claimed.

McLachlan conceded kissing some of his accusers but said these instances were consensual and did not amount to indecent assault.

He also denied another allegation that he told one woman he could smell her vag|na and it smelled sweet.

The court case against Craig McLachlan began in March 2018, a year after The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age published articles accusing the actor of s**ual harassment and bullying during his time on the Australian theatre production of The Rocky Horror Show.

He was fired from the production after the allegations were made.

The charges against him relate to his time on the production.

The actor’s lawyer, Stuart Littlemore QC, has previously said that McLachlan is being treated unfairly, arguing that the media coverage of the case has been one-sided and prejudicial.

Littlemore has accused the prosecution of misconduct over its handling of witness statements.
