Vanna White Negotiating Contract to Stay on Wheel of Fortune with a Pay Raise

After Pat Sajak’s retirement announcement, Vanna White is in talks to renew her contract and stay on the popular game show, Wheel of Fortune.

The 66-year-old co-host has been revealing letters on the show for over four decades alongside Sajak.

While the details of the deal have not yet been finalized, White is reportedly looking for a pay raise in her new contract.

According to Entertainment Weekly, White’s last pay increase was 18 years ago, although she has received bonuses during her time on the show.

She currently makes $3 million a year, while Sajak’s salary is reportedly five times higher.

Representatives at Sony Pictures Television declined to comment on the negotiations.

Sajak, 76, announced earlier this month that he would be retiring from his position as the host of Wheel of Fortune.

“Well, the time has come.

I’ve decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last,” he shared on Twitter.

Suzanne Pratt, the EVP of game shows at Sony Pictures Television, confirmed Sajak’s upcoming retirement and noted that he would serve as a consultant on the series for the next three years.

White’s plans to stay on the show are not surprising.

In December, she told PEOPLE that she wasn’t ready to leave Wheel of Fortune behind.

“I don’t even want to think about that.

I mean, we’re a team,” she said at the time.

“That’s depressing.

I don’t even want to think about it.”

White also acknowledged that it’s hard to imagine a world without herself or Sajak hosting the game show series.

“Everybody relates Wheel of Fortune to Pat and Vanna.

We’re like Ken and Barbie, you know.

We’ve been in everybody’s homes for 40 years, so it would be weird having somebody else turn my letters,” she said.

White has been flipping and revealing letters on the show since 1982, and her role has become iconic.

Her wardrobe changes throughout the years have also become a topic of discussion for fans of the show.

White’s decision to continue on the show will undoubtedly please many longtime viewers who have grown accustomed to her presence.

Wheel of Fortune has been on the air since 1975 and has become a staple of American television.

The show’s popularity has only grown over the years, and it remains one of the most-watched game shows in the country.
