Top Stars Return to King’s Concert as Meghan is Excluded from Coronation

Beyoncé to Open the Celebrations as King Charles is Crowned on May 6, 2023

In a surprising turn of events, top singers who had previously declined invitations to perform at King Charles III’s coronation ceremony have now expressed their intention to participate.

The news comes after Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, was excluded from the coronation festivities.

Buckingham Palace confirmed that Prince Harry will be present at his father’s crowning ceremony, while Meghan and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, will remain in California.

Adele and Ed Sheeran were among the artists who had initially declined the opportunity to perform at the coronation concert.

Sheeran cited scheduling conflicts, explaining that he had a concert in Texas the day before, making it challenging for him to return to England in time.

Adele had similar reasons for her absence.

However, their managers have now contacted the palace, expressing their desire to attend the coronation ceremony.

It remains uncertain whether there is still room for them to perform at the concert due to this sudden change.

Although the performers for the coronation concert have not been officially confirmed, sources suggest that Lionel Richie and the Spice Girls are the front runners to take the stage.

There are also rumors of a potential appearance by Harry Styles.

Following the news of Meghan’s exclusion, A-list celebrities have expressed even greater anticipation for the event through their social media posts.

Beyoncé, in particular, has expressed her desire to participate and support the new king by performing the opening song.

The coronation ceremony will commence at 11 am at Westminster Abbey, with the royals arriving in procession from Buckingham Palace.

After the ceremony, additional members of the royal family will join for the procession back to the palace.

The day’s ceremonial events will conclude with the king and queen consort, accompanied by other family members, appearing on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

The highly anticipated coronation concert will take place at Windsor Castle, attracting a host of music stars.

Take That, Bette Midler, and Lionel Richie are among the rumored lineup.

The concert will also feature the Coronation Choir, which comprises diverse community choirs and amateur singers from across the UK, including refugee choirs, NHS choirs, LGBTQ singing groups, and deaf singing choirs.

The audience for the concert will consist of 10,000 people selected through a ticket ballot, as well as volunteers from charities affiliated with the king and queen.

While full details of RSVPs are yet to be confirmed, it is expected that Westminster Abbey’s 2,200 seats will be occupied by members of the royal family, the Prime Minister, representatives from the House of Parliament, heads of state, and other royals from around the world.

Insights into Meghan’s perspective reveal that she had envisioned herself as the “Beyoncé of the UK” upon marrying Queen Elizabeth’s grandson.

However, the realities of royal responsibilities and strict protocols disillusioned her.

Palace staff described her as increasingly anxious and feeling misunderstood.

“I think Meghan imagined she was going to be the Beyoncé of the UK,” said a former palace insider.

“Being a member of the royal family would have given her that kudos.

But what she realized was that there were so many stupid laws that she couldn’t even do the things she could do as a private citizen, which is difficult.”

Another source characterized her aspirations as an impossible endeavor, as the realms of monarchy and fame are fundamentally incomprehensible to one another.
