Even though Tom Cruise is a Hollywood heartthrob, Thandie Newton, his Mission Impossible 2 co-star, wasn’t impressed by their kiss.

The actor most recently starred in the critically acclaimed film Top Gun: Maverick. Within two weeks of its release, it surpassed the half-billion dollar threshold.

In an interview from back in July 2017, Thandie Newton allegedly bemoaned having to kiss Tom Cruise in a scene and described what it was like to kiss the actor. She reportedly complained that they had to work hard to get the shot right and that kissing Cruise was  “slightly icky and sort of wet,” according to Elle.

Speaking to Vulture, she claimed, “He was a very dominant individual. He tries super hard to be a nice person but the pressure. He takes on a lot.”

Newton said that she regularly felt afraid being on set, despite the fact that she had no feelings for the action movie star. She was allegedly forced “into a place of terror and insecurity,” by Cruise.

She said, “Kissing Tom Cruise was slightly icky and sort of wet.”

The actress also discussed the enormous amount of labor that went into recording a love sequence with Cruise.

“Well, to take away the mystery and magic of what you see in the movie: you’re lying there, you’ve got 30 people around you, prodding all bits of you to make sure that certain things aren’t being seen and others look good. Even when you’re kissing, you can’t kiss too hard because then your face sort of spreads across the other person and it looks terrible. It’s so clinical, you’re thinking more about whether or not you’re squashing him than kissing him,” she said.

Cruise apparently picked his kissing technique from his sisters. Diane Cox, the former flame of the Top Gun actor, previously shared details of the young Tom’s s=x life. She revealed how close to his sisters the actor was, to the point that they taught him how to kiss.

Tom Cruise continues to work with some of the most beautiful ladies on the globe, regardless of how he conducts his kisses on the big screen.

Rob Lowe revealed that Cruise once lost his cool when they had to share a room.

Both of them stayed at The Plaza Hotel when attending auditions for the 1983 film The Outsiders.

“All of the LA people survived the LA auditions,” Lowe told Dax Shepard on his podcast Armchair Expert. “The hand-picked people then had to go to New York to face the New York version.”

When Lowe first met Tom Cruise, he reportedly said, “Wow, this guy is the real deal,” noting that Cruise had been focused “since day one.”

The former cast member of Parks and Recreation also revealed that Cruise was very competitive on set.

“He ended up being the only one who could do a backflip. It is in the movie The Outsiders for no reason. Just to do it.”

Tom Cruise is now taking pleasure in how his most recent movie is being received. But because he is working on Mission Impossible 7 and 8, which will be released in 2023 and 2024, respectively, he is not the one to take a lengthy vacation.
