Sydney Sweeney, the actress who rose to fame with her role in the HBO series “Euphoria,” has revealed that her father, Steven Sweeney, could not handle watching his daughter perform a racy scene on the show.

In an upcoming episode of “Sunday Today with Willie Geist,” she shares that both her dad and grandpa turned off the TV and walked out during the scene.

However, her grandma is a big supporter and fan of hers.

Sydney, who is 25 years old, admits that she did not give her father a heads-up about what he should expect when he decided to watch the show.

She tells host Willie Geist that she usually doesn’t discuss work-related matters with her father; they typically have father-daughter conversations.

Interestingly, Steven is not the only member of the Sweeney family who felt that “Euphoria” needed to tone down its racy content.

Sydney herself once asked the show’s creator, Sam Levinson, to cut out some of her topless scenes.

She told the Independent in January 2022 that there were moments where her character, Cassie, was supposed to be shirtless, but she didn’t think it was necessary.

Sam agreed and removed the scene from the show.

However, Sam has since come under fire for allegedly turning his upcoming series, “The Idol,” into a “rape fantasy.” In March, Rolling Stone published a bombshell exposé in which alleged members of the cast and crew accused the filmmaker of ramping up the s**ual content and n^dty in the new HBO drama unnecessarily.

According to one production member, “It was like any rape fantasy that any toxic man would have in the show – and then the woman comes back for more because it makes her music better.” Another said, “It was like, ‘What is this?

What am I reading here?’ It was like s**ual torture porn.”

Despite the backlash, HBO has stood by Levinson.

A representative for the network previously stated that “The creators and producers of ‘The Idol’ have been working hard to create one of HBO’s most exciting and provocative original programs.

The initial approach on the show and production of the early episodes, unfortunately, did not meet HBO standards so we chose to make a change.”

Sydney is currently starring in the HBO series “The White Lotus,” and her career shows no signs of slowing down.

She has been praised for her performances in “Euphoria” and “The Handmaid’s Tale,” among other popular shows.

It’s clear that Sydney is an actress who is willing to push boundaries, but she also knows when to draw the line.

Her decision to ask Sam Levinson to remove a topless scene from “Euphoria” highlights her professionalism and her willingness to stand up for herself when necessary.

As for her father’s reaction to her racy scenes on “Euphoria,” it’s understandable why he might feel uncomfortable watching his daughter in that way.

However, it’s heartening to know that Sydney’s grandma is a big supporter of hers and continues to cheer her on as she pursues her dreams.
