Sydney Sweeney has earned a reputation for playing young adult characters who hide deep emotions behind a cool detachment, from The White Lotus to Euphoria.

In a recent interview with The Guardian, Sweeney explained that she is nothing like Olivia, the character she played on The White Lotus, which follows the lives of guests and staff at a Hawaiian resort.

She said, “I was absolutely terrified of Olivia as well.”

Sweeney’s first main role was in Everything Sucks! in 2018, and since then, she has acted in several shows and movies, including Sharp Objects and The Voyeurs.

In The Voyeurs, Sweeney plays Pippa, who moves into a Montreal apartment with her boyfriend and becomes obsessed with the young, attractive couple across the street.

The movie requires Sweeney to perform extended sex scenes and nudity, but she was comfortable with it, saying, “I always look at a script and make sure that it’s not just getting thrown in there to be in there.”

Sweeney believes that the industry has made progress in the few years since the 2017 Weinstein reports.

She has worked with an intimacy coordinator on every project and hopes that more productions will hire them to ensure that actors feel comfortable and safe while telling stories.

However, Sweeney does have concerns about the potential for screengrabs and memes to spread across social media.

After appearing topless in the first episode of Euphoria, Sweeney’s nude photos were leaked, and she was judged by her peers.

She says she had to stop caring or thinking about screengrabs and has significantly altered her boundaries with social media.

Sweeney is the founder of Fifty-Fifty Films, a production company that focuses on adapting female-led stories into different types of projects.

The company is currently filming an HBO Max series called The Player’s Table, based on Jessica Goodman’s novel They Wish They Were Us, and starring Sweeney and pop singer Halsey as two best friends who unravel the mystery of a classmate’s murder in an affluent Long Island town.

Sweeney is currently two years into a bachelor’s degree in business, which she started as a protective measure.

She wants to be able to read contracts herself and not get taken advantage of in the industry.

While Sweeney feels that life and experience prepare her for the world, she believes that school gives her confidence.

Sweeney is keeping her personal life private and is happy that her family and friends have something to hold on to.

She has not confirmed whether she will appear in the recently announced second season of The White Lotus, which takes place at a different resort.

However, she says that Olivia is always down for another vacation.
