This is the sign you’ve been waiting for to get bangs for the summer. Sophie Turner took to Instagram on Friday (May 28) to show off her new hairstyle. She also got bangs, as you might have guessed.

The Game of Thrones actress shared her new look on Instagram Stories, which includes soft, blunt bangs that complement her long blonde hair. She wrote over the selfie, which appears to have been taken inside a car, “Ya gal’s BANG’d up.”

Turner and her husband, Joe Jonas, have had a wild year. Willa, their daughter, was born in July of last year. They appear to be enjoying life as parents, as a source told Us Weekly late last year that the couple is considering giving Willa a sibling.

“Joe and Sophie are already trying to have another baby,” the source said. “They are really excited to expand their family. Having the baby has made them really close and want to have a large family together.”

While the stars have kept much of their parenting journey private, Sophie did share a tiny little tattoo on her wrist that could be a tribute to her daughter— a tiny little “W” beneath the “J” she had inked on her wrist in honor of Joe.

Turner hasn’t changed her hair much since ditching her iconic red Sansa Stark locks for platinum blonde five years ago. Despite being a natural blonde, the transition was almost too much for her hair. “A few years ago I was trying to go back from red to blond, and it destroyed my hair to the point that I had to use a wig for Game of Thrones,” she told Glamour in 2018. “They wouldn’t let me dye it back red or my hair would’ve fallen out”

Sophie is known for her strawberry blonde locks and trendy middle part, but this isn’t the first time she’s worn her hair in a fringe. While promoting her film X-Men Dark Phoenix in 2019, she went for blunt bangs and layers.

Sophie has already made a lot of fashion statements this summer, and her new bangs are just the latest. She made the case for ‘90s-inspired thong slide sandals earlier this month, and she’s been seen in color-coordinating ‘fits with husband Joe Jonas. After all, Sophie and Joe enjoy swapping clothes, so it’s only natural that they’d keep things interesting by dressing alike.

Turner revealed in ELLE’s April 2020 cover story that Jonas sent her a DM in the fall of 2016 asking her to hang out when he was in London.

“I was living with my friends in Camden, in a really rough flat— people were always climbing in and out of the windows,” Turner told ELLE. “When I told my friends, they were like, ‘That’s hilarious. You have to do it! And you have to text us everything he says.’”

Jonas, she claimed, was the polar opposite of what she expected: “He didn’t bring security. He brought a friend, and they drank just as hard as the rest of us. I remember the two of us spending only a couple of minutes on the dance floor, and then we just found a space far in the corner and we just talked. We talked for hours, and hours, and hours. And I was, like, not bored. It wasn’t contrived. It wasn’t small talk—it was just so easy. And soon we were, like, inseparable. I went on tour with him.”

Sophie Turner has always favored a low-maintenance look when it comes to her hairstyle. In another interview with Glamour, the actor said, “I like to leave it natural and let my hair do its own thing. I had it cut a little shorter recently, which felt edgier. All I do is put in an anti-frizz balm, and I’m good to go.”
