The Queen ‘has a cash machine at Buckingham Palace,’ TV show reveals

A cash machine has been installed inside Buckingham Palace, according to a new documentary, despite the Queen’s famed refusal to carry money.

The shocking discovery is made in the first episode of a four-part series called Secrets Of The Royal Palaces, which will air on Channel 5 later this month.

Her Majesty is said to not carry money in her purse, although it’s unknown if she has ever used the ATM personally or has asked one of her closest aides to do so on her behalf.

In addition, the Palace has a staff Post Office as well as a doctor’s clinic that can conduct ’emergency procedures.’

The first episode will delve into the inner workings of Buckingham Palace. Other royal residences will be included, such as Windsor Castle, Balmoral Castle, Clarence House, and others.

Contributors include royal watchers, former press officers, society designer Nicky Haslam, and Grant Harrold, the former butler of Charles and Camilla.

Buckingham Palace contains 775 rooms, 52 bedrooms, and 78 baths, and was built by the Duke of Buckingham in 1703 and subsequently expanded. It is overseen by 188 employees of the Royal Household who are responsible for the Queen and Prince Phillip’s well-being.

The renowned ballroom’s ceiling, at 44 feet tall, is the height of three double decker buses.

It is referred to as the Queen’s “office.”

The Royal Household employs about 200 people, including the Queen.

Dickie Arbiter, a former press officer to the Queen, says that staff may also utilize a swimming pool. While working there, he claimed he would take a plunge every now and again.

Perhaps the Queen’s excessive spending habits were the driving force behind her desire for an in-house ATM.
