Jennie Garth adores her BH90210 co-star Shannen Doherty, but it wasn’t always like this.

It’s no secret that Jennie Garth and Shannen Doherty’s tenure on Beverly Hills, 90210 was not without its share of turmoil. On Monday’s edition of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, the Kelly Taylor star recalled a particularly vicious dispute.

“We were young and stupid,” she said, adding that costar Tori Spelling frequently served as their “peacekeeper.” “I can only remember one incident, and that’s when we took it outside.”

Cohen inquired further, wanting to know whether it became physical.

“I’m a midwestern girl. I spent some time in Glendale, Arizona, and that makes you tough.”

So, who came out on top?

“The guys that held us back,” Garth explained. “So, we never actually (did anything).”

“We’re just both very strong Aries women who don’t back down no matter what,” she explained.

While Garth first refused to reveal the “stupid” reason why she and Doherty were on the verge of becoming physical, she finally did so with the aid of Spelling.

The True Tori alum added, “You guys were teasing each other and she, like, pulled your skirt up.”

“I’m pretty sure I got in her face,” Jennie said, adding, “We’re both very strong Aries women who don’t back down no matter what.” “We were locked in this sound stage for 14-16 hours every day,” Jennie wrote in her 2014 memoir Deep Thoughts From a Hollywood Blonde, referring to her tumultuous relationship with Shannen. “There were times when we loved each other and there were times when we wanted to claw each other’s eyes out.”

Doherty departed the original Beverly Hills, 90210 in 1994, but both ladies reprised their roles in the CW’s revival, 90210, which aired from 2008 to 2013. The ladies also acknowledged reports of a violent brawl in an interview with Entertainment Weekly to promote the revival, which Spelling had included in her 2008 book, sTORI Telling.

“A fistfight? That makes us sound so tough,” Garth remarked.

“I know. Like we were serious gangsters,” added Doherty.
