There is a huge vacuum in ‘The Firm’ with Prince Harry and Meghan busy earning their fortune in America and Prince Andrew removed permanently from royal responsibilities.

As a result, the royal family is short on personnel to meet its wide range of obligations.

A courtier told the Daily Mail that she now thinks Beatrice and Eugenie should attend more occasions and do more work.

He said that Her Majesty believes her grandchildren should attend more royal occasions and do more.

The news seems to contradict Prince Charles’ plans for a “slimmed-down” monarchy once he is crowned King.

The Daily Mail reports, however, that the Prince of Wales is now happy for them to take the initiative.

According to a close friend, who spoke to the newspaper: “The Royal Family has already become slimmed down with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex giving up public duties.

“As the older members of the family retire, it will become slimmer still, so there are spaces to be filled.

“His Royal Highness is very fond of his nieces and would not stand in the way if they did want to carry out more duties.”

Eugenie, a Newcastle graduate, works full-time as a director at Hauser & Wirth in Mayfair. Beatrice, 31, is a finance and consulting professional with a degree from Goldsmiths, University of London.

To this date, the couple’s public presence had mostly consisted of royal festivities like family weddings and Trooping the Colour.

Because Beatrice and Eugenie do not carry out responsibilities on behalf of the Queen on a full-time basis, they are not considered senior working royals like Prince William and Kate.

A spokesperson for Buckingham Palace refused to comment on whether Beatrice and Eugenie desire to take on additional royal responsibilities.

It’s not the first time royal insiders have speculated that the sisters, who are ninth and tenth in line to the throne, might take Harry and Meghan’s place.

In January 2020, the Sussexes shocked the world by announcing their intention to leave the royal family and strive toward being “financially independent”
