A source exclusively revealed to Us Weekly that Prince William and Prince Harry’s relationship is on the rebound after they bonded at the unveiling of the monument they commissioned for their mother, Princess Diana.

“William and Harry spent the morning before the statue unveiling looking through old keepsakes, notes from Diana and bonding,” a source told Us Weekly on Wednesday.

“They have absolutely turned a new page in their relationship and have started the healing,” the insider said. “Everyone around them was thrilled to see how close they were on the day of the statue unveiling.”

At the opening of Kensington Palace’s newly renovated Sunken Garden, the two seemed to be unified. To commemorate the event, they issued a joint statement.

“Today, on what would have been our mother’s 60th birthday, we remember her love, strength and character – qualities that made her a force for good around the world, changing countless lives for the better,” William, 39, and Harry, 36, said. “Every day, we wish she were still with us, and our hope is that this statue will be seen forever as a symbol of her life and her legacy.”

Due to the epidemic, the event was attended only by William, Harry, the sculptor and garden designer of the monument, members of the committee that arranged the memorial, the head of Historic Royal Palaces, and Princess Diana’s three siblings. The rest of the royal family either watched from afar.

Despite rumors that she might accompany Harry on his vacation, Meghan Markle stayed in the United States with their two children, Archie and Lilibet.

The brothers were shown in a video published after the occasion entering the garden together, chatting with family members, and then pulling two ropes to remove the cover from the monument.

In recent years, the princes have been open about their strained relationship, with Harry and Meghan Markle’s plan to stand down from their senior royal responsibilities in 2020 widening their rift. According to sources, although Harry briefly reconnected with his brother and family for Prince Philip’s funeral in April, the visit did not do much to repair the bond. The friction has thawed with the birth of Harry and Meghan’s baby, Lilibet, in June.

While they were not there for the unveiling, William’s wife, Kate Middleton, and their three children allegedly got their own private viewing of the monument ahead of time.

According to another source, Duchess Kate has been attempting to reconnect with Meghan, 39, in recent months.

‘She’s sending [notes and] gifts and trying to build up a relationship,’ the source said.

‘The firm has been instructing staffers to reach out more to Harry and Meghan to get them to soften a bit.’

The relationship grew strained in March, when Harry and Markle, 39, gave an interview to Oprah Winfrey that was seen by over 50 million people worldwide.
