According to sources, Prince Charles did not “cut off” Prince Harry’s funding when he quit “The Firm” with Meghan Markle last year.

The Duke of Sussex said he made deals with Netflix and Spotify because he “had to afford security” for his wife and son during his candid interview with Oprah Winfrey.

He told Oprah, “My family literally cut me off financially.”

An ally of Charles dismissed the argument, saying he felt “let down” by it and that he supported the duke and duchess “more than he would care to say.”

When you know what Harry has done, it seems a bit rich for him to suggest he feels “let down.” The Standard was told by the source.

According to an insider, Prince Charles still provided funds to Harry and Meghan money when they moved to the US.

Palace accounts deny reports that Prince Charles suddenly cut the Sussexes off financially.

During the interview, Harry reported that his father had financially “cut him off” and had stopped answering his phone calls.

The intensely personal comments have left Prince Charles “upset and cut up.”

“It was a surprise to hear he’d been cut off, given the bank statements,” a source close to Charles told the Sunday Times.

“The prince continued to provide Harry and Meghan with financial support after their move to America, while they found their feet.”

“What f*****g hypocrisy,” one of Charles’ friends said.

“When Harry and Meghan left last year, they wanted to become ‘financially independent’.”

Princess Diana left Prince Harry a fortune

As per Prince Harry’s recollection, the royal family cut him off financially in 2020, and he has since relied on the money he inherited from his mother, Princess Diana.

Harry told Oprah Winfrey that he ceased getting financial assistance “in the first quarter of 2020” in the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s first sit-down interview since stepping down as senior royals in January 2020.

He said of the couple’s relocation to the United States, “I have what my mum left me and without that, we wouldn’t have been able to do this.”

He went on to say, “It’s like she saw it coming and she’s been with us through this whole process,” adding, “Netflix and Spotify were never part of the plan.”

How much did Diana leave Harry?

According to different accounts, the inheritance started out at about $8.9 million and compounded with savings and interest on the principal.

At the age of 25, Harry and his brother, William, started collecting their inheritances, with the full sum coming by the age of 30, when the ginger-haired prince got about $13 million.
