Netflix subscribers are displeased with the streaming giant’s signing of a contract with Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, and Prince Harry.

Some have chosen to terminate their subscriptions as a result of the multi-million dollar agreement.

Netflix has been slammed by critics following the news of their undoubtedly lucrative agreement with the Sussexes.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who retired from royal responsibilities earlier this year to pursue a new life of financial independence in America, reached a deal to produce their own programs. However, when the agreement was revealed, several individuals went to Twitter to say they were canceling their memberships.

“May well cancel my subscription to Netflix ..” one user commented.

“Cancelled Netflix,” remarked another, “Not paying one penny to them.”

“Not only will I not be interested in anything they have to say I will cancel my subscription! ”raged third.

“Watch them on Netflix?” another fumed, “I’d rather cancel my subscription.”

“If Netflix want to blow their money then that’s their choice. However we also have our choice of withdrawing our Netflix subscription.

“There are other mediums out there to switch to other than Netflix. Let’s cancel our subscription,” a sixth user blasted.

“Thank God I never subscribed to NETFLIX ~ means I don’t have to cancel my subscription in view of this so called mega deal with ‘woke’ & irritating Just Harry & Meghan,” another said.

Other fans, however, were eager to defend the previous royal couple, slamming keyboard warriors who claimed they’d now cancel.

“Trolls be crying and stating they will now cancel Netflix,” said one tweet. “Good, they don’t need your stinking money Harry and Meghan will bring them many more new customers.”

“Guess what, nobody cares whether you cancel Netflix or not,” another shouted. Meghan and Harry will keep on shining… they don’t need you they have us. They have the world.”

“Thank you @netflix for the deal with H&M,” one Twitter user wrote.

“I know it’s also your own interests but it’s really a good thing for Meghan and Harry.

“They are an inspiring couple and we will support them in whatever they are going to do with you.”

Meghan and Harry stated that they would create a variety of material that “informs but also gives hope.”

Meanwhile, sources at Buckingham Palace have reacted angrily to the news, claiming that the transaction will be ‘scrutinized’ by the royal family.

“Harry and Meghan did leave as working members of the family with everyone’s best wishes and it is sincerely hoped they find the happiness that appeared to be lacking in their lives, However, it goes without saying any deals they are making will be scrutinized by the royal household,” the source added.

Under the terms of their deal to forgo their royal duties, they agreed any commercial deals would be subject to discussion,” they said. “This deal with Netflix, any speaking engagements or other corporate work are examples.”

Despite never having created a television show, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced on Wednesday that they would work with Netflix to develop documentaries, features, scripted shows, and children’s shows.

“Our lives, both independent of each other, and as a couple have allowed us to understand the power of the human spirit: of courage, resilience, and the need for connection,” they added.

“Through our work with diverse communities and their environments, to shining a light on people and causes around the world, our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope.

“As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us, as is powerful storytelling through a truthful and relatable lens.”

The Sussexes added that they were “pleased” to be working with Ted Sarandos, Netflix’s co-chief executive officer and chief content officer, and his staff, “whose unprecedented reach will help us share impactful content that unlocks action.”
