Meghan Markle’s ‘people in America’ were secretly ‘orchestrating £112m Netflix deal before Megxit’
Meghan Markle’s £112 million Netflix agreement was allegedly orchestrated in America BEFORE Megxit.
Although the Duke and Duchess of Sussex inked their multi-year mega-deal in September 2020, reports indicate that their new animated series, ‘Pearl,’ has been in the works for years.
The Duchess of Sussex is the brains behind the new series, which will chronicle a 12-year-old girl’s “heroic adventures” as she is inspired by great women throughout history.
Meghan worked on the cartoon series with David Furnish while still in the UK, according to Page Six.
According to The Telegraph, the concept was initially explored with Netflix in 2018, the year of Meghan and Harry’s wedding and two years before the pair chose to leave the Royal Family as senior members.

Following the announcement of the separation, Harry and Meghan inked multi-million dollar agreements with Netflix and streaming services like Spotify.
Buckingham Palace revealed to a startled public at the time that they would no longer use the titles “royal highness” or earn public money for their job as part of an agreement that would allow them to stand down as working royals.
Meghan’s staff had been working on the Netflix deal, which was nicknamed a “secret squirrel,” according to a royal aide.
“A lot of it was orchestrated by Meghan’s people in America,” one source said, adding: “It was a bit of a secret squirrel.”
Furnish said that he and Meghan have been working on the project together for some time.
In his announcement message on Instagram, he suggested that Pearl had been a long time coming.
Mr Furnish said: “I am delighted that we are finally able to announce this exciting animated series.
“The team collaborating on the series are first class, and Netflix are the perfect partner.”
He didn’t specify when they began their creative work, however.
Since leaving the UK, Harry has been busy doing interviews with celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey and Dax Shepard.
Meghan and Harry’s staff has said that any talks with Netflix in 2018 were only for the Pearl project.
The Sussexes secured a lucrative multi-million-pound production agreement with Netflix in September 2020.
The pair intends to produce documentaries, docuseries, feature films, scripted programs, and children’s programming as part of their agreement.
