Meghan Markle’s low-key 40th birthday organised by Oprah’s party planner will host ’65 guests’
Meghan Markle allegedly engaged Oprah Winfrey’s former party planner for her 40th birthday event, according to a source, who claims the Duchess of Sussex will celebrate her significant milestone with about 65 guests on Wednesday.
The Duchess of Sussex, 39, is said to have hired Colin Cowie, a renowned celebrity wedding and event designer, to arrange her birthday celebration at the £11 million home she shares with husband Harry in Santa Barbara, California.
Cowie has thrown parties for celebrities like Jennifer Aniston, Tom Cruise, Jennifer Lopez, and Kim Kardashian.
The royal mother-of-two, who is married to Prince Harry, is reported to be looking forward to celebrating with a small group of friends and family.
Meghan, who turns 40 on August 4th, is said to be planning a “low-key” party.

The TV presenter, who is a friend of the couple, recommended the party planner to the mother-of-two.
“Megan wants a small gathering. About 65 people are invited, her closest friends and family,” a source told a U.K. publication. “Colin was recommended to her by Oprah who always puts on fabulous parties.”
Cowie’s mantra is: “The equation for the gold standard of service isn’t 1+1=2. It’s 1+1=3. What can you do to stay ahead of the curve?”
A quick glance at the Colin Cowie Lifestyle website reveals that Meghan’s 40th birthday celebration will be anything but average. The designer defines his job as “creating bespoke, luxury experiences worldwide,” so we expect something amazing. No cost will be spared.
There will allegedly be “grazing tables” with of delicious meals, drinks, and nibbles for the former Suits actress’ friends and family to enjoy.
Cowie was named Vogue’s No. 1 wedding planner and caterer in the northeast United States in 2018.
Prince Harry is said to have bought a cake for his wife from Posies & Sugar, a local bakery that makes cakes with a basic semi-naked icing appearance and is adorned with flowers.
Guests will allegedly be served locally produced meals and drinks.
The party will be hosted in accordance with Covid guidelines under California’s relaxed restrictions.
Prior to Archie’s birth in May 2019, she traveled to New York to celebrate with pals at the opulent hotel The Mark in Manhattan, which allegedly did not go down well with royal advisers.
Meghan has been known to go all out for her celebrations in the past, and aside from the royal couple’s spectacular wedding at Windsor Castle, she also had a stunning baby shower in New York for an estimated $500,000 before giving birth to Archie, now two.
It comes after Meghan and Harry’s bombshell appearance with Oprah in March, in which they detailed their brief life as a working royal couple.
According to royal pundits, Meghan Markle’s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey may be one she lives to regret.
