Meghan Markle may share a family photo with Lilibet to commemorate her 40th birthday, offering a first look at the new eighth-in-line to the throne.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s daughter was born on June 4 but has yet to be seen publicly.

Meghan and Harry, who were both working members of the Royal Family at the time, took photos with their baby Archie a few days after he was born.

Royal fans have been waiting for an official portrait of the infant for eight weeks, and it may be released this week to coincide with Meghan’s 40th birthday.

After relocating to America and distancing themselves from some Royal Family obligations, the couple has grown more protective of their privacy, especially when it comes to their children.

Royal commentator Phil Dampier told The Sun Online: “I think it’s likely we will see a picture of the family.

“It wouldn’t surprise me, if Meghan does release a pic of her with Lilibet to mark her 40th birthday, as they’ll will want to emphasise what a happy family unit they are.

“And it will be interesting to see what messages she gets from the royals – I suspect they will post messages, even though in private they are very upset about was has happened.”

Richard Fitzwilliams, a royal expert, also told The Sun that a fresh photo was probable.

“I would expect something online, as they are very savvy about online posting, and their brand has a great many fans, and Meghan’s 40th is a very big milestone,” he said.

“I would say they would do something to play to their substantial number of fans, and be of worldwide interest, hence the conclusion we would see photos of Lili – I don’t know.

“Royal fans have been wanting to see a photo of her for some time.”

Richard Fitzwilliams continued: “The Sussexes are very unpredictable, but I think she will mark her 40th with something like a photo of Lili.”

Meghan is turning 40 today, August 4 — the same day as the late Queen Mother.

Harry and Meghan may be tempted to share a more stylized portrait of Lilibet that just shows a portion of her body, such as her foot or hand.

Writing for news.com.au royal expert Daniela Elser said: “While they might desperately want to be able to offer their daughter a level of privacy that Harry was never allowed to enjoy growing up in the royal fishbowl, the hard truth is that they do still occupy a strange nebulous place between public figures and private citizens.

“Which is why some sort of shot of Lili – a toe! A finger! One tiny hand holding an even tinier hand! – does not seem out of the question.”

Fitzwilliam’s words were backed by royal author Adam Helliker, who told The Sun that a first image of Lilibet may be revealed on Wednesday.

But he warned that if that happened, it “would be slightly in bad taste, as it would be seen as helping to promote the Sussexes’ brand”.

There’s a lot of speculation about what Meghan will do to celebrate.

In March 2021, Meghan and Harry shared a rare new photo of themselves holding newborn Archie, just hours before their explosive Oprah interview aired in the UK.
