Meghan Markle is ‘jealous of Kate Middleton and ruined her birthday on purpose,’ sister reveals
Samantha Markle has blasted her estranged sister Meghan, claiming she is ‘jealous of Kate Middleton and ruined her birthday on purpose.’
Samantha, 54, talked to Daily Star Online about her sister, including commenting on recent claims that Meghan was “throwing herself” at Disney when attending a film premiere with Beyonce.
In a startling Instagram post on the evening of January 8, just hours to Kate Middleton’s birthday, Meghan and Prince Harry announced their resignation for the royal family.
Buckingham Palace later confirmed that the pair will lose their title of His/Her Royal Highness, a step not seen since The Queen’s uncle, King Edward VII, abdicated the kingdom to marry divorced American socialite Wallis Simpson.
Samantha comments on Meghan and Harry’s big news, saying it’s “sad [Meghan] would do that on Kate’s birthday—I believe she was jealous of beautiful Kate.” While the royals are known to throw shade from time to time, such an accusation takes it to a whole new level.

Samantha was taken aback by the timing of Meghan and Harry’s shocking revelation, in which they also announced they will be dividing their time between the UK and North America.
“She could never compare – Kate is iconic! Perfect Queen material and lovely as a family member especially as a mother.”
She also praised Kate’s wardrobe, saying, “I was impressed with how Kate could make a $200 dress look like $2 million.”
Following the Lion King premiere in London last July, footage emerged of Prince Harry attempting to persuade franchise head Bob Iger to hire his wife.
Samantha slammed Meghan for allegedly “throwing herself” at Disney in an attempt to earn a deal with the company.
‘The Disney move would have been fine if initiated after leaving royal roles but seems inappropriate prematurely,’ commented Samantha.
‘And disrespectful of royal protocol. It’s like cheating on a spouse and giving a phone number for a dinner date before being divorced.’
Samantha said of Meghan’s decision to quit, “She received so much negative public scrutiny as a result of actions that were inappropriate.”
Experts believe that the Sussex Royal brand is worth a “absolute fortune,” with some experts estimating that the pair could easily earn up to £500 million in their first year of freedom.
When questioned about Meghan’s charity activities and visit to Africa with Harry, she stated, “If she was smart she would be a true humanitarian, benefit the world especially poverty issues and be in a favourable public light.”
She went on to describe the royal family as a “launchpad” that helped Meghan get to the high places that Suits couldn’t get her.
She added: “She kept her agent and manager and might have landed a Disney deal. It seems that the British royal family were a launchpad for high places than Suits couldn’t get her.”.
