Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor had a very significant meeting on the books not long after her birth on June 4 – the introduction to her namesake, Queen Elizabeth.

Lilibet is a sweet homage to Harry’s grandmother, the Queen, who was given the nickname Lilibet as a kid by family members.

Earlier, a different insider informed reporters that the Queen is ecstatic about her namesake’s birth.

“They [Meghan and Harry] were very excited and couldn’t wait to share that their daughter arrived,” a source told People.

“Harry has spoken to the Queen, and she told him she was delighted he has found happiness. She has seen him struggle with his position in the family and had always had a great deal of affection and sympathy for him,” said the source.

They turned to Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana, for Lili’s middle name. And the name also serves a loving nod to Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland, who gave Meghan the childhood nickname “Flower.”

The Duke and Duchess’ spokeswoman said: “Both mother and child are healthy and well, and settling in at home.

“Lili is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty the Queen, whose family nickname is Lilibet.

“Her middle name, Diana, was chosen to honour her beloved late grandmother, the Princess of Wales.”

According to royal historian Robert Lacey, Prince Harry and Queen Elizabeth have developed a “remarkable bond” in the years since Princess Diana’s untimely death in 1997.

Lacey explains, “She was a sort of stepmother for both Harry and William. We have all focused on her coaching of William as the future King, but we are realizing now the importance of the emotional bonds that she’s been able to establish with Harry and their ability to talk to each other directly. That affection remains.

Meanwhile, according to another insider, the Queen has chosen to put Harry’s feud with the royal family behind them at this happy moment.

The Sussexes now have a “complete family,” according to Dean Stott, a close friend.

He said: “Lili becomes the fourth generation of amazing, strong women in the family-behind Meghan, Diana and her Majesty the Queen.

“Harry and Meghan now have their complete family. It’s their time to be in the moment.”

According to one Palace source, cited by the BBC, they did not consult Her Majesty.

However, a spokesman for the Sussexes informed the magazine that if the Queen had not approved of the name, they would not have used it.
