If Prince Harry keeps marketing the royal brand while publicly criticizing his family, he risks further eroding his relationship with his brother.

The Royal Family is waiting for their next move as the dust settles on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s bombshell appearance with Oprah Winfrey, according to a royal analyst.

Author Duncan Larcombe says the Duke and Duchess of Sussex risk deepening the gap between themselves and the monarchy if they continue to profit off the royal brand.

They’ve made headlines for criticizing the monarchy in an explosive interview with US TV presenter Oprah Winfrey and announcing business partnerships with Netflix and Spotify.

One royal analyst believes the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s next actions will determine their future relationship with William and the rest of the Royal Family.

The pair has sought to have their Archewell Foundation fundraising organization and podcast business Archewell Audio protected by US corporation law, but the US Patent and Trademark Office has informed them that their applications need to be clarified. They have six months to reply, or their applications will be thrown out.

The pair said in their application for Archewell Audio that the company’s purpose was to “creation, development, production and distribution of podcasts, audio programmes, music, and audio books”

This isn’t the first time the Sussexes’ business plans have failed.

They had hoped to make a non-profit organization out of the Sussex Royal brand.

When they left their formal responsibilities and went to America, however, Buckingham Palace forbade them from using the term “royal.”

“Meghan and Harry have signed some very lucrative contracts and are clearly committed to doing a fairly substantial amount of work to get them off the ground,” Larcombe told OK!

“Most of Harry’s time is going to be taken up by his mental health work. He’s going to be mentoring people and undoubtedly speaking out more about his own experience.”

“But what’s really going to be really interesting is how they navigate their fallout with the Royal Family. There’s an outstanding bullying claim against Meghan that will heat up over the coming months, and we now know that Harry’s best from of defence is to attack.”

Duncan thinks Harry, 36, could strike out once again if his wife’s bullying accusations are made public. According to the allegations, she fired two personal assistants and insulted her employees.

Rumors are circulating about who may be asked to testify in the Buckingham Palace bullying investigation, but Harry and Meghan’s response might be pivotal in determining the couple’s long-term relationship with Harry’s extended family in the United Kingdom.

Meghan would be required to participate in the proceedings in order to properly investigate the accusations, but it is unclear what role, if any, she would play at this early point.

“What’s really going to be really interesting is how they navigate their fallout with the Royal Family,” said Duncan.

The Duchess’ spokesperson responded to the bullying accusations by saying she is “saddened” by the allegations, “particularly as someone who has been the target of bullying herself”
