In a statement posted on their website, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex urged people to be more compassionate to one another.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex want to highlight other people’s “compassion” experiences on their website.

In a section asking, “what is compassion?” on the couple’s Archewell website, it outlines the company’s mission “to drive systemic, cultural change — one act of compassion at a time”.

Meghan and Harry said that they think “compassion can unleash incredible change across the world”.

“To us, compassion means more than the dictionary definition. It means listening with open ears to the suffering and celebrations of communities and people beyond ourselves.

“It means taking the time to understand their perspectives, experiences and needs based on what they say, rather than assuming what they need.

“It means uplifting diverse voices and giving a platform to people to share their stories. It means taking that newfound understanding and empathy and channeling it into action for people who need it the most”.

They added: “Our mission at Archewell is to drive systemic, cultural change — one act of compassion at a time.

“We believe that compassion is at the core of all culture and connection in this world.

“Each time someone conducts an act of compassion — whether it’s mentoring a young woman or holding space for someone having a difficult day — our world becomes a better place.

“Compassion is at the core of everything we do. We hope you’ll join us in building a better world, one act of compassion at a time.”

The message may include a veiled jab at the monarchy in praising the benefits of “listening with open ears to the suffering” of others, according to royal observers.

Finally, the statement invites readers to submit their own compassion stories for a chance to be published on the Archewell website.

Fans of the Sussex royals and Archewell may submit a compassionate act they’ve performed or someone has performed for them, together with their contact information, for a chance to be included on the website.

After stepping down as senior members of the royal family, the couple established Archewell, a non-profit organization that includes music, video, and other charitable initiatives. It was created to replace their royal brand, Sussex Royal.

Meghan said in a tumultuous Oprah Winfrey interview that the royal family did not listen to her as she was trying to adapt to her new life.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced the birth of their newborn girl, Lilibet Diana, last month.

It comes after Harry returned from London, where he and his brother, Prince William, unveiled a statue to Princess Diana.
