According to CNN, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner are trying to distance themselves from Donald Trump in order to improve their image.

Ivanka Trump, the former president’s eldest daughter and heir apparent, and her husband, Jared Kushner, who both served as senior advisers to the former president during his time in the White House, have reportedly had enough of his constant whining, which is driving a wedge between them that “grows wider by the week.”

The duo’s reputations have been in the toilet since January, thanks to four years of association with a deranged bigot, a global pandemic that Jared personally exacerbated, and a failed attempt to overthrow the US government led by a fascist mob that Ivanka publicly praised before realizing how it looked. The situation is so terrible that the pair, who aren’t known for their self-awareness, seem to realize how despised they are, which explains their frantic efforts to restore their social status by claiming they don’t want anything to do with Donald Trump.

Twelve former Trump White House officials, former administration officials, family friends, acquaintances, and members of his team told CNN that the 74-year-old’s “constant harping on the past and his inability to move on” has caused family strife and is increasingly leading him to blame his son-in-law for his presidential legacy.

According to two friends, Ivanka Trump has tried to remove the entanglements created by her father’s years in the White House, as she wants a less complex life for her family.

Jared and Ivanka are allegedly attempting to persuade those who don’t know better that they’ve severed connections with the 45th president due to his unpredictable conduct and conviction that he won the 2020 election. Naturally, people “familiar with the matter” have told CNN about the couple’s apparent aversion to Trump:

Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner were rarely seen with him in the months leading up to the former President’s seasonal shift from Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, to a cottage at his private golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, after spending much of the last five and a half years in close proximity to him.

Who could forget Ivanka and others around her insisting from the start of the Trump administration — and even in the weeks and months running up to his swearing-in — that she would be a calming influence on her father’s worst instincts?

One source familiar with the issue told the publication that Mr. Kushner’s presence “has become increasingly rare as it became clear that his father-in-law remained preoccupied with the 2020 election.”

“He was kind of like a parent who sticks around less and less each morning while they’re transitioning their kid to day care,” this person said.
