How ‘Hurtful’ Rose Hanbury Affair Rumors affected Prince William and Kate Relationship

After the Rose Hanbury affair allegations, Kate Middleton and Prince William’s relationship changed–but not in the manner you would expect. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were busy with their usual royal responsibilities in April 2019, while also awaiting the birth of their nephew, Archie Harrison. Life, though, comes at you quickly, as the phrase goes. Suddenly, newspapers reported that the Duchess had a falling out with her neighbor and friend, Rose Hanbury, the Marchioness of Cholmondeley, and that the reason for their feud was Hanbury’s romance with Prince William.

The Duchess of Cambridge, understandably, was displeased with the talk. “Kate finds the rumors hurtful, obviously, and hates the thought that one day her children will be able to read about them online,” a family friend said. However, it provided a chance for her and William to grow: “It forced her and William to sit back and examine their relationship, which they realized they should have been doing more often.”

Despite the fact that rumors suggesting Prince William was cheating on her profoundly wounded Kate, she found solace in the knowledge that Prince William has stayed devoted to their marriage and children.

While the infidelity rumors “didn’t go down well with Kate,” a second source tells Us that the future queen consort, 37, and William, 36, are “determined to pull through it and are doing a great job at getting their marriage back on track.”

“It’s not unusual to have a few hiccups in a marriage, especially after eight years, and Kate and William are no different,” a second source says of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. “They’re still going strong. Regardless of their ups and downs, they love each other dearly and their kids are the most important thing in their lives.”

The rumors about Kate’s romance began in March, when The Sun claimed that she had a falling out with Hanbury, her “rural rival.” The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were considering legal action as a result of the bogus article, according to the Daily Mail.

Several media sources picked up the story, reporting on rumors that Hanbury and William were having an extramarital affair. Unsurprisingly, the Palace remained silent on the subject.

We’re simply relieved that the Prince and Duchess have gotten back on track, and that the Marchioness of Cholmondeley has regained her privacy.

Prince William and Kate Middleton have been together since the early 2000s. In 2001, the two became friends during their first year at the University of St. Andrews, and by 2003, they were dating. The pair had a difficult time in 2007 and temporarily broke up. During their hiatus, an unnamed insider told the Daily Mail that Prince William wasn’t serious about Middleton, despite his affection for her, and that he wasn’t ready to settle down just yet.

“He has always had a roving eye, far more so than Harry, who is meant to be the family playboy,” said the source. “That’s something Kate has always known and accepted — it was part of the deal, if you like. I suppose in that respect, she would have made a perfect Princess of Wales.”

Despite the allegations at the time, the prince demonstrated his devotion to Middleton. The two were back together only a few months after their breakup and seemed to be stronger than before.
