Harry and Meghan risk ‘running out of currency’ soon
According to a royal expert, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s book and podcast deals put them at risk of running out of currency. The ‘currency’ being revelations about the royal family.
Since stepping down as senior royals, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have stayed in the media limelight, signing multimillion-dollar deals with companies like Spotify and Netflix, as well as their shocking broadcast appearance with Oprah Winfrey.
Harry has also featured on the Apple TV show The Me You Can’t See, where he discussed the royals’ “total neglect” and the Armchair Expert podcast, where he criticized his father, Prince Charles, for his parenting.
It was reported last month that he will write an “accurate and wholly truthful” book next year, detailing the “experiences, adventures, losses, and life lessons that have helped shape him”
Vanity Fair royal editor Katie Nicholl, who spoke on True Royalty TV’s the Royal Beat, questioned what the pair will have left to share once these agreements were completed.
Trending:
“I think the biggest threat to Harry and Meghan, once these book deals are done and the podcasts are done and Spotify, then what is their currency?” she said.
When it was revealed that Harry would write a memoir, a source said there was a “tsunami of fear” inside royal circles over what he might put in the book.
Despite the Duke of Sussex working on the book with American ghostwriter J.R. Moehringer for over a year, the announcement of the book was said to catch the Royal Family off surprise.
Katie predicted that the royals will recover from anything Harry decides to include in his book.
She added: “This book will make the Royal Family very nervous as will many events of the future.
“But it will come good for them because the Royal Family will always be the Royal Family.
“So I suppose there is a level of comfort in that, when you see how history has played out until now.”
This week, Harry is preparing to celebrate Meghan’s 40th birthday on Wednesday.
Meghan is reportedly hiring Oprah Winfrey’s party planner to arrange the event at the couple’s £11 million Santa Barbara property.
Harry, 36, has ordered a cake from Posies & Sugar, and guests will enjoy “grazing tables” with locally produced dishes and wines from neighboring wineries on the big day.
According to a source, “Megan wants a small gathering. About 65 people are invited, her closest friends and family.”
