Britney Spears’ manager quits and says singer wants to retire from Music
According to her manager of 25 years, Larry Rudolph, pop diva Britney Spears is poised to retire from the music career. According to TMZ, Rudolph quit as Britney Spears’ manager over the weekend in a letter to Jodi Montgomery and Britney’s father Jamie Spears.
Britney Spears is allegedly going to “retire,” according to her 25-year manager, who is quitting as a result. This comes less than a week after the pop diva failed in an effort to have her father removed as conservator of her estate.
He wrote to Spears’ conservators, father Jamie Spears and Jodi Montgomery, in a letter originally published by Deadline:
“It has been over 2 ½ years since Britney and I last communicated, at which time she informed me she wanted to take an indefinite work hiatus. Earlier today, I became aware that Britney had been voicing her intention to officially retire.
“As you know, I have never been a part of the conservatorship nor its operations, so I am not privy to many of these details. I was originally hired at Britney’s request to help manage and assist her with her career. And as her manager, I believe it is in Britney’s best interest for me to resign from her team as my professional services are no longer needed”.
Trending:
“I will always be incredibly proud of what we accomplished over our 25 years together…
He continued by wishing Britney “all the health and happiness in the world.”
Despite emotional evidence that included claims that the singer was compelled to perform against her will, a LA court maintained father Jamie Spears’ power over the pop star’s money and personal affairs.
Britney Spears’ conservatorship has garnered worldwide news in recent years, as the pop diva has petitioned to have the conservatorship terminated, saying she no longer requires protection and will not be compelled to work by her father.
Spears has stated that her career will remain stalled as long as her father is in charge, and she has not released an album since 2016, has not performed live since 2018, and has been on a total sabbatical since early 2019.
Bessemer Trust, a wealth management business that had been selected as a co-conservator in 2020, has now withdrawn from the agreement, citing “the fact that the conservatee claimed irreparable harm to her interests” under its provisions.
Britney Spears has yet to officially respond to the retirement reports, but if true, it will bring an end to one of pop music’s most successful careers.
Six of her nine albums have topped in the United States, with songs such as… Baby One More Time, Oops!… I Did It Again and Toxic defining the pop sound at the turn of the century. She has had 23 Top 10 singles in the UK, including six No. 1s. Glory, her most recent album, was released in 2016.
Britney’s fans and friends from all over the globe have urged her to reclaim control of her life and business.
Britney Spears recently begun to take a more active role in attempting to end the conservatorship that governs her life, delivering impassioned testimony to a Los Angeles court accusing her father and members of the team of exploitation, preventing her from removing a contraceptive device, and medicating her with lithium against her wishes, a mood stabilizer most commonly used to treat bipolar disorder. “I just want my life back,” the singer said. “And it’s been 13 years. And it’s enough. It’s been a long time since I’ve owned my money. And it’s my wish and my dream for all of this to end without being tested.” After being denied another removal effort in early July, the singer may submit a request to terminate the conservatorship entirely.
Spears was placed under conservatorship by a judge in 2008, following a public breakdown in which she shaved her head and attacked paparazzi with an umbrella.
