Sharon Stone was sexually abused by her grandfather as a child

Actress Sharon Stone has revealed in her new memoir “The Beauty of Living Twice” that she and her sister Kelly were sexually abused by their grandfather during their childhood.

The 63-year-old writes that their grandmother facilitated the abuse by locking the three of them in a room.

The experience left both sisters traumatized and they felt a sense of relief when their grandfather eventually passed away.

Stone was 14 and her sister was 11 when he died. The actress writes that the relief they felt was palpable when they saw his body in the casket at his funeral.

“I poked him, and the bizarre satisfaction that he was at last dead hit me like a ton of ice. I looked at [Kelly] and she understood; she was 11, and it was over,” Stone writes about the experience.

Stone and Kelly grew up in Meadville, Pennsylvania. In addition to sharing about the sexual abuse she and her sister endured, Stone’s memoir covers other personal experiences, including her experience filming the infamous “Basic Instinct” scene, which she claims she was tricked into filming.

The actress also writes about her near-death experience in 2001 when she suffered a brain stroke.
