Shania Twain, renowned country-pop artist and icon, has released her first new song in five years.

The single, titled “Waking Up Dreaming”, is accompanied by sultry cover art featuring the 57-year-old singer posing topless in nothing but a cowboy hat and pointy-toed boots.

Twain styled the photograph herself, telling The Sun that it was all about being comfortable in her own skin and embracing her true self.

The artist also addressed the backlash often faced by female artists of a certain age who choose to show some skin, stating that one needs to be strong and not take criticism too personally.

Despite the potential for controversy, Twain’s famous friends and fans have been enamored with the cover shot.

Fellow country singer Orville Peck dropped heart emojis while Priyanka, winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race, exclaimed “WE ARE READY” in response to the photo.

Fashion designer Marc Bouwer, who created Twain’s iconic gown for the 1999 Grammys, also praised the image, calling it “gorgeous.”

The release of “Waking Up Dreaming” comes after Twain’s surprise appearance alongside Harry Styles at Coachella in April.

The artist is currently working on a biopic that promises to offer insight into her eventful life.

In her Netflix documentary, “Not Just a Girl”, Twain revealed her experiences with divorce from her adulterous ex-husband, Robert “Mutt” Lange, who had an affair with her former personal assistant and best friend, Marie-Anne Thiébaud.
