Sean Bean says s-x scene coordinators are not needed
Actor Sean Bean has criticised the use of intimacy coordinators and called out the censorship of s** scenes in an interview with the UK’s Times Magazine.
Intimacy coordinators were introduced after the #MeToo movement and Harvey Weinstein scandal.
Bean, who played Boromir in Lord of the Rings and Ned Stark in Game of Thrones, said that the increased use of intimacy coordinators would “inhibit” him more as it draws attention.
He cited an example from his time playing opposite Joely Richardson in Lady Chatterley, where they had a “good chemistry” and were “trying to portray the truth.”
Bean also referred to an infamous Snowpiercer s** scene involving a mango with Lena Hall, claiming that the scene was censored.

He said that the best work was often censored when TV companies or advertisers deemed it too much.
So far, Bean’s comments have not garnered much social media attention, with many criticising his stance.
Some argued that intimacy coordinators are there to ensure actors’ safety, and that they should have been introduced decades ago.
Others pointed out that fight choreography is carefully planned for safety reasons, and that actors are expected to make it look spontaneous.
