Sarah Ferguson thanks hospital staff who detected bre-st cancer and performed ‘successful’ operation
Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, has undergone successful surgery for bre-st cancer, according to a statement from her spokesperson.
The 63-year-old royal was diagnosed with an early form of the disease after a routine mammogram screening.
Fortunately, she has been told that her prognosis is good and is currently recuperating at Windsor with her family.
In a statement, the spokesperson said Sarah wanted to “express her immense gratitude to all the medical staff who have supported her in recent days” and believes her experience underlines the importance of regular screening.
According to reports, she underwent the operation at the private King Edward VII Hospital in London, which is frequently used by the Royal Family.

She was in hospital for five days and was released yesterday.
Her spokesperson said that Sarah was advised she needed to undergo surgery, which has taken place successfully.
