Ryan Reynolds Wants to Explore Deadpool’s Pansexuality in next films

Ryan Reynolds was asked about the prospect of additional LGBT characters in forthcoming Deadpool sequels at San Diego Comic-Con this past weekend, and his response startled the audience. Reynolds appears to be prepared to explore Deadpool’s sexuality in the upcoming flicks!

According to Variety, Reynolds said during a Hall H discussion when a fan inquired about future gay and bi inclusion in the series, “I certainly think that this universe… needs to represent and reflect the world in very real ways. The great thing about Deadpool is that we’re allowed to do things that other superhero movies don’t necessarily do, and that’s probably one of them. It’s something that I’d love to see more of, certainly through Wade, certainly through this universe, because it’s something that we’re building out more. We have a lot of tools in the shed that we get to play with.”

Deadpool is described as “pansexual” in the comics.

Although Deadpool is in a committed relationship with Vanessa Carlysle in the movies, his sexual versatility has been made obvious. He flirted with a very uncomfortable pizza delivery guy in the first film, and in Deadpool 2, he gets a feel of Colossus’ butt while Colossus is trying to give him a friendly hug, and generally does such a poor job of concealing his attraction that Vanessa (in the afterlife) retorts to Deadpool begging her “Don’t f*** Elvis” with “Don’t f*** Colossus.”

Due to Disney’s recent acquisition of Fox’s film and television holdings, new X-Men films might be released anytime after Phase 3 of the MCU, as that universe continues to quickly grow. According to rumors, Deadpool will not be recast, which will assist with continuity if Reynolds is permitted to explore more LGBTQ representation under the new administration of the franchise. After all, Wilson’s pansexuality was depicted openly in the first two Deadpool movies.

The actor made light of some of his previous superhero flops before “Deadpool” became a hit.

When a fan asked, “What do you hate more? ‘Green Lantern’ or ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’?” he said, “Both were amazing experiences, and I had a ball making them … but yeah, they are both pretty bad.”
