Ryan Reynolds, the star of Deadpool, will get his own street named after him in Canada’s capital city. Reynolds was born and raised in Canada, where he began his acting career on Nickelodeon’s Fifteen. Reynolds has continued to display his love and admiration for his homeland since then, on his way to becoming one of Canada’s most well-known and well-known performers.

Reynolds, who received the Governor General’s Award last year, will have his own street named after him – Ryan Reynolds Way – in recognition of his many years of service to Ottawa.

“It’s clear that Ottawa does have a special place in Ryan’s heart, and in his honour, I’ll be bringing forward a motion later today to have a street named after him. Ryan Reynolds Way will be located in a new subdivision in the east end. Look forward to seeing it open soon,” noted Mayor Jim Watson at his state of the city address on Wednesday.

“This is an incredible honour and a deal is a deal, Mr Mayor…I’ve changed my daughter’s name to “Ottawa”,” Reynolds replied, in his trademark witty flair.

The Free Guy actor is one of Hollywood’s most in-demand actors, and he and his wife Blake Lively are well-known for their charity endeavors. Since the COVID-19 began, the pair has contributed over $1 million to humanitarian organizations such as Food Banks Canada and Feeding America, according to Screenrant.

Reynolds stated last month that the $850,000 earned through this year’s ugly sweater campaign will be donated to Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children, while he and his wife committed $250,000 to Influence Mentoring, a program that helps Indigenous kids bridge the career and educational barriers.

Reynolds was also honored with the 2021 General’s Performing Arts Award in Canada last year, honoring his work as one of Canada’s most popular and well-known performers. While the exact date of the street sign’s installation has yet to be determined, it is a strong indication of Canada and Reynolds’ mutual affection for one another.

Reynolds spent most of his boyhood in the Vanier neighborhood of Ottawa, and he warmly recalls his time there.

Reynolds revealed that he will be taking a vacation from acting after wrapping production on his upcoming Christmas film Spirited for Apple TV+ at the end of last year, but with a slew of films either out or due out soon, the star’s absence will be hard to notice. His next film, The Adam Project, will be released on Netflix in March, after his smashes Red Notice and Free Guy in 2021. Reynolds has also kept up with his typical social media contacts, posting updates on his present travels as well as promotions for his numerous companies on Twitter and Instagram.

Many fans will be expecting that when he returns from his vacation, he will have some news to offer about Deadpool 3, the first film to include the Merc with the Mouth in the MCU. Given that his arrival has been hyped for quite some time, this is definitely at the top of the actor’s priority list if he doesn’t want to be greeted by a horde of enraged Marvel fans at his door.
