Phoebe Dynevor Found It ‘Awkward’ Watching ‘Bridgerton’ S-x Scenes With Her Family

Bridgerton is known for its sensual sequences, particularly between Phoebe Dynevor and Regé-Jean Page’s characters. So, what was it like for the 25-year-old actress to watch the performance with her family from the comfort of her own home?

The British actress spoke out in an interview with The Guardian on Sunday (January 17) on what it’s like to sit down with her relatives and show them her beautiful work, especially those intimate sequences with the Duke (Page).

She told The Guardian, “I’m happy for Mum and Dad to see it, because they know the industry, and they know how hard I worked, and how much it meant to me getting that role.”

“But not my grandparents. And with my younger brother… well, it’s awkward.”

Sally Dynevor, who plays Sally Metcalfe on Coronation Street, and writer and actor Tim Dynevor are the actress’ parents.

When it came to filming the s-x scenes, though, Dynevor claims that they were rehearsed “like stunts.”

She tells the newspaper, “I would literally know exactly where a guy was going to put his hand at what moment. And we’d have props, like mats, that went in between us. It was more intricately choreographed than our dance routines in a way, so I never really felt exposed at all.”

In an interview with BAZAAR.com, the actress attributed the work of a fantastic intimacy coordinator for the moments’ compelling quality, rather than the fan-fueled rumour of an off-screen relationship between herself and Jean Page.

‘When we first met, we had the room with a bed in it, and she just came in basically with a bag of things. And it was yoga balls and yoga mats and bits of cutout things and just all these tools that you can sort of use,’ she told the outlet.

For those who haven’t already binge-watched Shonda Rhimes’ drama, “Bridgerton” is set in 19th century London’s high society, where eight close-knit siblings of the powerful Bridgerton family try to find love.

Violet Bridgeton (Ruth Gemmell), the widowed matriarch, and her eight alphabetically named offspring make up the Bridgerton family. Daphne Bridgerton (Dynevor), her daughter, is making her social debut and hunting for a husband. While her brother Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) is charged with finding her a suitor, all changes when Daphne meets the attractive Duke of Hastings, Simon Basset (Page), and the two devise a plan.

The Featheringtons, led by Lord Featherington (Ben Miller) and Portia Featherington, are another family (Polly Walker). Philippa (Harriet Cains), Prudence (Bessie Carter), and Penelope (Harriet Cains) are their three daughters (Nicola Coughlan). Marina Thompson (Ruby Barker), a cousin, also joins them throughout the social season.

The program, narrated by Julie Andrews, is based on the Julia Quinn books and is filled with controversy, romance, and gossip. The program has already been watched by 63 million people.
